Forwarding emails to a group of recipients outside our domain

Create user contacts for all the external addresses you need to forward the mail to. Then create a new distribution list, add the new contacts to it. Bobs your uncle. Alternatively you can add a rule in Outlook to achieve this also. Iain

I always just go for the big MS book read through that the Labs, I do these in a virtual environment so I can save at each stage and redo it over and over) are great and so far haven't had to resit any exams. Don't really do the "testking" thing as I've heard they have a lot of wrong answers so...

does the user use TS or a desktop? You may have to create a new gpo which sets the Default Gateway to "False" and apply it to an OU create specifically for the numpty! Good luck. Iain

40gb Tapes (Compressed) Showing 18.6gb as Max

If its a 40GB compressed then it would be 20GB uncompressed so there "probably" isn't a problem as such. I would hazzard a guess that thye files you're backing up aren't compressable; can I ask which types you are backing up? Also are you using Hardware or Software compression or both? If you...

    File & Storage reporting applications

Not sure exactly what you need but you could have a look at http://www.systemtools.com/somarsoft/index.html and find dumpsec. This has probably been superceded now but still very useful. Iain

email usrs pwd and network pwd are not the same?

Personally, don't touch anything! Pay someone a a few £100 to come in and help if you go changing things you don't understand then theres a good chance of doing real damage. You say the mail is static so is this people access a group mailbox like sales or marketing or Left_User? Ifso you would...

    Salary Negotiation

5 years? Personally, I wouldn't bother renegotiating unless you've got a golden handcuff agreement (i.e. if you leave within X years of completion you need to pay back X% of the MCSE) Just leave. Find a new job, it'll have plus points and negatives but all in all you'll be at a bit of an...

    Mailbox sizes won't get smaller

Another thing to consider is the deleted items retention period. This may be X days or until a backup is done. You may want to tweak this to 0. Iain

I did this recently. Place you default screen saver in .SCR format in a shared location (even hidden \\server\share$ ) then set the permissions for who can change it and who has read and execute only! You don't want mr funny changing it to something slightly "exciting"!!! You may also want to...

I remeber seeing a document on costing the traffic to force it to use the other network I will try to find the link. Unfortunately, you can't have 2 separate networks on the same ip range so the only choice is to change one of them. Iain
