All clients Firewall Turned on Automatcially after joining domain

Hi,
I was installing a small network of 1 Win2003 DC & 70 WinXP clients. Windows 2003 DC provides DNS & DHCP service. I can see Windows Firewall Turned on automatically once they are restared after joining to the domain.

Could anybdy please tell me what could be the reason. Also i would like all these Windows Firewall to be disabled with less admin effort, any suggestions please.

Its probably your Default Domain GPO.

Change it in there or even better add the exception that you need.

I had the same problem. I just disabled the firewall with a GP.

i wouldn't disabled the firewall if you have laptop users that join to other networks when offsite

You can open ports you need from the group policy.

I have a group plociy that onlys the sophos ports on all windows xp firewalls on my domain.
