Hide from Exchange email lists

Once a user/service account has the attribute of "Hide from Exchange email lists" ticked (for services that need their own accounts), how long does it take to happen? Or does some other event need to happen?

It'll be based on the Exchange Address book.

If using Outlook cached more then the change will be next day / rebuild if not the change will be instant.
