VPN using SpeedTouch 530 USB/Etherenet ADSL Router

Hi, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you Chill, I am not to sure what it is you are looking to achieve, but you cannot use the Speedtouch as a VPN concentrator - I presume, from your above post, that the server (Win2K?) is going to act as your VPN Concentrator? Basically, let me know...

VPN using SpeedTouch 530 USB/Etherenet ADSL Router

I am currently rolling out a 500+ site VPN solution using the Speedtouch 530 modems and can definetly say they are a solid router - I liek them, a lot. Also, I have managed to be able to configure these to act as bridge and as such only need one static ip address (here in the uk the two choices...

    Remote vs VPN

Crossmank, There is allways going to be an overhead when connecting using a VPN due to the encryption and packet authentication etc. However, I would suggest trying to increase (if possible) the MTU size in case you are getting a lot of packet fragmentation. Cheers, Chris

    Odd problem

I've seen this before, and I think if you busy the port as opposed to the phone then it should work. Cheers

    Prologix Restarts

All you have to do is Save Translations, and then when thats done, pull the plug! Swop out the procesor board and but the old flash into it and but the pug back in! Make sure that the new processor is the same software load as before, or if not you will also need to upgrade it, with another...

Blocking a specific number from dialing in.

Oops, should of mentioned the vdn is her old agent login - everybody who calls her goes to her phone except him - and you could have some real fun there....... Chris

Blocking a specific number from dialing in.

Hi, Are you getting ANI from this guy, what i would suggest is to replace her agent login with a new, unkown one. You could then create a vdn and vecor that points to her new no. unless "ANI Digits = xxx". I'm sure there are more elegant ways of doing it but this will work. Hope this...

    E1 connection

Hi Nozy, For a E1 connection you need a spare DS1 card installed. There are two jumpers on this card - for an E1, set the first jumper to 32 (32 Channel E1 as opposed to a 24 channel T1). The second jumper depends on the connection (i guess it will be rj45/cat5 on the ivr) - 125 Ohm for cat5...

    Craft Level Password

Hi, ASG (Access Challenge Gateway) has actually been an option for quite a while - it's not specifically on new machines. Certainly a lot of switches are set to have the ASG challenge on the inads port but not many have when accessing by data-module/sat. Also, i see a lot of switches that have...

    Craft Level Password

Hi, Avaya really should be prepared to set *your* login to craft level. If you do a "change login x" - there is an option. Ask them to change your login to super-user. If you get no joy from Avaya, give me a shout as i may be able to help further. Hope this helps, Chris

    Procomm Plus

Hi Dustinn3, Try dropping the speed down to 9,600 and hit enter a couple of times. Hope this helps, Chris

    CDR Fields....

Hi Htownmack, This is available in R7 aswell, if you go into "ch sys cdr" and set the primary output to customised, this will add a second page. On the secpnd page, you can define which fields, the order and the size manually. This will allow you to collect only the details you...

    Remote Maintenance

Hi Tlongman, I would of thought an easier way would of been by using the SAT port on the switch. Trackers are ideal for this as they allow the sat to remain connected but alternatively you could just connect the modem straight to the Serial Port for the SAT. Hope this helps, Chris

    Call Forwording

Hi, Yes SAC - Send All Calls. When activated all stations will follow their coverage path with only a half-ring on the phone with SAC activate. Hope this helps, Chris

    Can a phone be "locked"

Hi, You could setup up PSA (personal station access) and add a security code. This is probably the easiest option. Hope this helps, any further details please just ask, Chris

    Starting with blank setup

Hi, I would disagree with the above posts, you should be able to boot the switch without the flash without any problems ,however it will be a very basic system (BCS, with nothing but the bare bones turned on). I would strongly suggest that you don't boot the switch with a different translation...

    Full Screen Unix

Hi, Sorry, i should of added that in the intuity and interchange you need either the tsc or root password. If your talking about the switch then there is a login, higher than init, but i wouldn't have a clue what it is, sorry. Hope this helps, Chris

    Full Screen Unix

Hi, Do you mean in the Intuity, Interchange or Switch? Chris

Hello Does anybody know what type

Hi, This is one of the new cards for R9 - these cards cannot be read on R8 and below switches. To answear your question however, it goes in the si processor in R9 (sorry i can't remember the tn off the top of the my head). Hope this helps, Chris

    Coverage on an outside line

Hi, I don't believe that's possible without Avaya's DHD (Digital Hot Desk) - that route maybe worth exploring. Hope this helps, Chris
