is the drive a maxtor? I had a maxtor driver that wouldn't show the correct partions. I later learned that I had the master/slave jumpers set wrong on the drive. I corrected the problem and have no issues now.

I notice that something similar with my scanner. If I install it after I install photoshop, photoshop has a hard time finding the software to scan. Mostly how i fix this is by reinstalling photoshop. Just a suggestion

What you also could do, is make a back up of the the text you want to Skew. You could convert the text to outlines and then group the txt and then play around with to get the effect you want.

Photoshop uses raster graphics to create images. Illustrator creates vector graphics. Opening .psd's in illustrator will not convert them to vector images. Your best bet is to remake the text in Illustrator and then save it out that way.

how are you saving the files? Are you saving them as an .AI file? I haven't known the program to merge everything and covert text to out lines with out making it do it.

I believe that drop shadow in AI is for AI artwork and not for images. The only way I could think around this is, if you would create an object the same size as your picture and then put it in the back and then get the kind of drop shadow your looking for. OR, use photoshop.
