When I try to print from Illustrator 10.0 on a Minolta QMS Desklaser 2200, I get an error "Can't print illustration". I tried upgrading my driver and the printer frimware too. When I export the drawing to PDF and print from Acrobat Reader, it does work.
I have no problems printing from Illustrator to my Brother HL-1050.

What could be wrong here?

Well, I've heard of this problem before. I have the same problem. And i'm using a Epson 760. I only get the error when I try to print. The art work is pretty complex. Another person once said that it has to do something with Windows. Are you using a MAc or a PC?

Someone posted before on this issue saying that it was part of a windows problem. Mac's usually have no issues. At least thats' what i've heard. I'm going to try to rasturize the whole project and see if that helps. I have yet to do that, that's my goal tonight.

Good luck

My PC will print fine to my HP Laserjet (and by fine I mean after I install PCMacLan so that I can teach my PC to speak appletalk) right up until I cancel a printjob. If I do this I have to restart cause I get the same error message you speak of. Try printing the doc as soon as you start up. Also make sure the printer is on before you start up. BEHOLD! Apple talk?

Can I do that for my Epson printer? I would think that it would make a difference. But if it helps, I have no problem add that protocol to my computer. Where can I get that PCMacLan? And will it work with my configuration since I'm using USB?
