Currently in the Chicago, IL USA area but soon to relocate to Tennessee. I wish it were just the internet I was competing against, however, there are contractors that I do sub work for who are not BP's, yet are buying direct from distributors (a supposed no-no) and getting pricing better than I...
Thanks to all, did the upgrade to rel 5 and all is now well.
As for the sales, what can I say, it's difficult competeing with the internet. In this case, I had not even heard of this customer until I got the repair call, so I guess I should look at it as 'job security'? Made a few dollars...
TomMills,
I would presume so, the expansion module is v7(8), all the control unit modules are v4.1(9). I say 'presume', because I don't know where the customer got the exp. module (eBay- maybe?). The next time I go out there, I'll try upgrading everything and see what happens.

Hi all,
I have a customer with an IPO 500, 4.1(9) with a DigDCP 16 V2 expansion module. The problem is the phones plugged into the expansion module are not displaying the users name. They are currently set for the default (i.e.: Extn223) in both the 'Name' and 'Full Name' fields. Any insight on...
If I'm not mistaken (and I usually am), the delta server connects to the ip office on port 8080 and 8082 is the default port to connect to the delta server. Also, make sure the delta server is optioned to act as a client.

The 'Switch Type' can be DMS or 5ESS, as long as both ends are the same. The protocol MUST be 'Custom', not NI1 or NI2. It sounds as if the CLEC has changed the protocol, my guess is to NI2.
elly10,
I presume the output you are referring to is the 'raw' smdr (cdr) data from the switch. The output is pretty standard regardless of the switch, ie: Definity, IP Office, Merlin or Partner; Avaya, Nortel, and so on. Yes, this will eventually overwhelm any computer, as it will just append...
To cover some basics:
1- If you dial 498 directly, does it go to the AA
2- In the dialplan routing, is the Total Digits =3 and is your provider sending 3 digits or are they sending more? I had a provider tell me they were sending 7 digits, when in fact they were sending 10. Remember, the Merlin...
It would help if you were to say what the ultimate goal is for each location, i.e.: trunks + stations. You've mentioned 10 Centrex lines, which can be accomodated by a 509 proc. and a 200 trunk module. Also bear in mind, regardless of the PC messaging size, you're limited to 2 ports, not much...
Can't tell from your post, but remember, you cannot 'span' days. So for your 'closed- monday thru fiday', you need two entries, one for 5:01 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. and another from 12:00 a.m. to 8:59 a.m. The same for weekend.
If I remember correctly, from one of our customers, AT&T had to write a 'script' for the cisco unit in order for it to send the caller ID (ANI) to the Merlin. They wouldn't tell me what the script was, but it must be in they're tech support 'database', cuz they did say they had this problem before.
You're right about the patch, though the last time I had it done was 5-6 years ago. As I recall, when it was 'hung-up', you could also dial '*10' to knock it down. An alternative might be to go from the merlin to the audix via Pass Thru (printer type= ams) rather than audix to merlin.

You did not say which Merlin you're dealing with, but if it is a Magix, you may want to go to Tables-ARS-E911-Allow 11 and make sure it is disabled. By default it is set to enabled. I have had to disable it at several locations because of 'phantom' calls to 911.

And here I thought I only had to read up on two...guess I was wrong. Thanks DavidCT for the info on the power supplies, something I had not considered but probably should have been the first thing.
Thanks to all and will base my research on:
1- Power rating
2- Ease of installation/programming...
