What version are you upgrading to? 8.x?
If it is 8.x, in the administrator/backup there is a place that you set how the labels should be printed, automatic or manual.
I am guessing you are using extension side recording?
About the LOS/NOS, is the impedance adaptor installed on the cable that is connected to the logger? There should be a 1.5m cable at your IDF and connected to this should be the impedance adaptor, then the cable that connects to you logger...
If you go to Nice administartor/backup and select the logger, can you see the dat drive you added?
My guess is no and you can only purchase a upgrade from (not) Nice.
Nothing with the internet is guaranteed.
Your ISP is guaranteeing that you can transfer data to them at 1.2Mb or 400Kbs and from them at 1.2Mb or 1.5/3.0Mb, not to/from the internet. The real through put depends on the internet at that moment in time and the server/system up/down speeds you...
This should work for everything execpt Exchange files.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VERITAS\Backup Exec\Engine\Backup
Fail Jobs on Corrupt Files should be 0
The amount of audio recoding space is controlled by the configuration file, aud-wrk.cfg or something like that. If you modify this file you will receive a checksum error on the logger, the logger still works but you receive an error. So, if you add 1TB it will do you no good unless you change...
Sorry to say, you can not officially upgrade anything older than version 8.5 and adding a tape drive from Nice to your system would be considered an upgrade.
7.x is supported for bugs only, not hardware.
You can buy a tape drive off the open market (NOT nice) and install it. If I remember...
What you want is the Remote Tape Server (RTS) or a Reproducer from Nice, but as you are on version 7.x you will find it impossible to get because Nice does not sell or support that version any more. I can tell you what the nice option for your logger is, "buy a new logger".
My suggestion is...
Does not work in 8.5, if the file name is as an example "photo.jpg" *.jpg works to exclude the files, but if the file name is "some.photo.jpg" *.jpg does not work.
I have also found that *jpg works but any file with the leters in the that order JPG will not be backed up and this is a problem...
I want to exclude some files from the backup, but the file name is as an example 2004.1.24.something.jpg. If I exclude *.jpg it does not exclude this file. Any ideas?

Do you get any errors in the NT event log of the CLS?
I had similar problems. I got a disk error, after that the CLS would stop working about once a week with errors like you are getting. My solution was to install a new hard disk.
Ben
Sorry to here about your problems. I have had some problems that are just hard to fix, but in the end all worked out.
The key problem of re-occuring probles is high temp. If the room the logger is in get above 30c and you have hard disk mirroring its a big problem.
DDS dirves fail all the...
Dont forget, it also matters on your ISP. If your ISP is has the big pipes and aquidate network, then the speeds will be good. Cable can be faster, T1 is 1.544 and that it. Add another T1 or 2.
Just a standard Nice answer....
