8.5 Logger won't stop breaking

I have a NICE logger 8.5 digital in total recording mode with 48 channels.

Since this sytem was put in in late 2001 we have had the tape backup drives replaced many, many times, also the scusi cable replaced, the hard drives, motherboard, etc. 2 weeks ago we had hard drive failure on both hard drives and had both backup tapes replaced. Today both backup tapes have drive failure and media failure. I love the NICE product but can't tolerate these reliability issues. Does anyone else have experiences like this, if so what can I do? NICE seems pretty unresponsive and they just keep fixing problems instead of finding a solution for our repeated problems.

Sorry to here about your problems. I have had some problems that are just hard to fix, but in the end all worked out.

The key problem of re-occuring probles is high temp. If the room the logger is in get above 30c and you have hard disk mirroring its a big problem.

DDS dirves fail all the time, it is just the nature of the thing. You should try AIT dirves I belive they have less problems.
