You only need the MC32s if you are encrypting your speech. Otherwise a bog-standard MC32 works just fine.
You will need DSP resources however in the upgrade to 5.5 if you have more than one cabinet/chassis but they should probably be spec'd in as DSP daughterboards on your new Media Gateway...
You also can't simply do a hot-swap as both IP Line and IP trunk will require re-configuration of the node with the ELAN MAC Address of the card installed.
when you enter the credentials in the BCM to access the shared folder you need to add:
\\domain name\domain username (possibly without the leading "\\" -- I forget) as the username
domain password as the password
Good day all.
I'm trying to finesse routing on a BCM 4.0 (SU14 latest patch)to allow calls to an extension at another site to fail to the other site's main PSTN number if all VoIP trunks are busy.
I know about building a routing service etc. The issue is when I attempt to add alternate routes...
I have a customer who is ripping out all of their Option 11s (3.0) and replacing them with a Cisco Call Mangler. This is occuring over multiple sites across Canada. Yes, yes I know....
Anyway, their smaller sites have BCM 400s (mostly 3.7) and they intend to keep them. Currently they have...
No voice media path means you have a network issue. Speak to the network folks and tell them that every IP set at every site needs to be able to speak with every IP set at every other site.
@Tman45 -- CS1000 4.5 = no MGCs. MC32s or ITG-Ps only.
Check your ELAN cables and double-check the ELAN/TLAN adapter is secure. It could be a bad adapter.
The ONLY downside to using IPMG in loop 0 0 is that you will lose 1 dsp on the 32 port DB on that MGC. You can't have a DSP in TN 0 0 0 0.
There were issues early on with CC6 not liking 0 0 X X TNs but they seem to have gone away.
I try to start at 4 0 if building from scratch, but any DB...
1. MC32 cards don't use A DCHIP card. They are for ITG-P cards.
2. An SSC card running 5.5 only supports TDM.
3. IP Trunk 3.0 will not work on MC32 cards.
