8.1 is compatible with 95,98,and NT 4.0. Your system error is a typical software incompatibility error, so I would say it's not playing nice with your OS.
Fiber nam or old copper nam with modem card?
If it's a copper nam with one dual-RJ11 modem card then it maxes out at 4 ports (B1 and B2 channel of each voicemail DN).
just to clarify, the IP address is the address tied to the MAC address of the ethernet port on the callpilot. When you are plugging the crossover cable into the callpilot, you are plugging into the port where the IP is assigned.
If you don't know the address of that port, you can't talk to it.
You have to know what the IP address is to access Callpilot manager. So the crossover cable won't do you any good. Just use a 9-pin maintenance cable and connect to the callpilot with hyperterminal or procomm (or whatever you use). Reboot the system and follow the directions that scroll...
Nortel starts their DN's with 2xx because 1xx is used for long distance dialing. If a user has a prime line enabled, then picking up the phone to dial an extension beginning with 1-and not pressing the intercom button-would access the long distance carrier.
check the button programming with Ftr *0 if the programming shows 1 line on 1 button, then I would begin to suspect a hard cross on the line somewhere.
The way that I always do this is....
Set the operator extension to through the auto attendant to something that isn't being used. Then give an answer DN button to the two operator phones for that extension number. That way, when the call is routed to the operator it will ring on both phones...
You need to do this with restriction filters and restriction schedules. If you come and go at random times of the day, it would be best to restrict your phone completely and use a class of service override code whenever you call out.
phoneguy is right. The shutdown process is "yank the cord out of the wall". The programming is held on flash ROM that won't be affected by a loss of power. It will come back up ok.
I am unfamiliar with the PCI B card.
Is this the same thing as the CTA-160? The CTA-160 is the PCI version of the CTA-100 direct connect module. It allows you to run TAPI applications with the Norstar. I have a customer that uses the CTA-100 with a BCM-50 and it works just fine.
I would...
Sounds like your dial tone isn't getting into the switch. Have you checked to make sure the line is good at the demarc? Is there lightning protection between the demarc and the switch? If so, check for a blown lightning arrestor.
If all of that is good, it's likely a bad port on the trunk card.
What make/model of door phone is it?
The ones that we always put in are made by Valcom. These are terminated on a trunk port as an incoming trunk. Then you assign the trunk to appear and ring on certain phones and label the button as "Door". When someone presses a button, the unit...
