Nortel 3x8 set polarity

I've read all the manuals and other forums on this site, but I guess I'm just looking for a little reassurance, lol. When punching down new set (ext.) wires I know it goes TIP to TIP, RING to RING but on the off chance (Not paying attention) I cross TIP to RING will it blow out the phone?? So my question is, are the sets (Phones) polarity sensitive?

no they are not...Option switches are but n*'s are not

....and even option switch phones won't blow. They just won't work.
