all:

i've been lucky enough to have someone help me with setting up some DIDS to ring on my DNs. does anyone know why the DID would now be ringing on my ext and the receptionist as well?

thanks

check for an "answer DN" button on the receptionist's phone.

when i go to the "answer dn" feature on her phone it just comes up with "Show set: ___". is there another way i can check?

i actually figured it out.. i hit scan and it shows none..

I think I figured it out.. I changed the 'line type' to 'private' and it doesn't appear to ring on the receptionist phone...

The problem with private is you won't be able to transfer that call to anyone else. It sounds like you have the target line appearing on both phones, just remove it from the ATT phone.

interesting... it did allow me to transfer to another ext.

Under line settings for that DID, make sure you have your ext listed, and not 221 or none. Even if you have none selected, if you have Transfer to Prime set to Y under Sys Prog, the call will default to 221 if not answered by the number of rings specified by DRT-Prime.

Was the phone ringing at the receptionist's phone at the SAME time as the user's phone, or, as RikRodgers stated, after x number of rings?

If the former, go to
Terminal&Sets -> Line Access -> Line Assignment

Enter the target line number for the user's DID. Make sure that it reads "unassigned".
