ftp working intermittently on nt4.0 after a 2003 server in domain

I had problems with outbound FTP connections using Windows Server 2003. Never found any forums or information from Microsoft regarding this, BUT, upgrading to SP1 immediately resolved my FTP issue. *Scratches Chin* Good Luck

    Group calling button

I would make sure there are no other DLC extensions programmed (with or without telephones attached) I replicated the problem with my system (Magix 3.0 w/MerMess 2.0) Pressing the night svc button on the extension on Logical port 1 will switch rings to answer, as will the phone on Logical port...

    Group calling button

Determine how many direct line operator positions are programmed in the system. In my experience, if more than one Direct Line operator exists, only a programmed night service button on the highest logical port number console will switch the message used to the night mode.

Moving Offices - Need help with Magix BRI

Very easy move... just change the DN (Directory Numbers) and SPIDS: From MLX20L 1 - 7 MENU > SYS PROGRAM > START > LINES TRUNKS > MORE > BRI > SPID/DN > 8 Enter Line Number of First BRI Trunk (example 801) > ENTER 9 Use DELETE or Backspace and change spid displayed to new spid > ENTER 10 Use...

    Setting up a BRI

Yes, as indicated by redphone. You can set up any MLX port as 2B data. The merlin treats these calls as data calls (where the voice/data/both options come into play in ARS). If you're looking to connect to another cisco outside of the merlin switch, the far end must still be connected by...

    800 gs/ls and WINSPM R8

My experience has been that while indeed the 800 gs/ls card is not compatible, the 408 gs/ls MLX (non-caller id version) is compatible up through Magix R3.0. The 408 gs/ls card has also been upgradeable using the current release Magix forced upgrade card.

    caller ID on legend

A 800-BRI card also will provide caller i.d. information using basic rate ISDN lines in addition to the types of modules identified by merlinman.

Magix R3 Caller ID without ID modules

Short of T1/PRI, you'll either need ls/gs-ID line modules, or if "number only i.d." you could explore pricing on 800-BRI module and service. In most of our locations, a single BRI isdn line (which provides two numbers and voice circuits) cost less or the same as 2 analog voice...

Remote Call Forwarding use Tie Lines

Check the FRL for remote call forwarding. By default the system will generally restrict remote call forwarding by decreasing this to zero.

    mlx 10d vs mlx 10dp

The only difference between the MLX-10D & MLX-10DP is the latter has a extra RJ45 jack as a data port for connecting certain CTI equipment such as the old passageway interface. I don't believe there is anything other than data passed to this port.

    remote access

392 is correct. We administer severa systems remotey on a regular basis. Once a remote access password is administered locally, it remains valid until specifically changed.

    Fax Extention

Using the same menus and steps you used to add an extension as a fax, go back and do the same. On the screen where you can enter extensions, one of the soft buttons is labeled "delete"

    BACK TO BACK ISDN

ISDN U interface is the U.S. standard for BRI lines. In other parts of the world, Telco's deliver an S/T interface. In short, the U interface is a 2 wire circuit which must be converted to a 4 wire NT2 circuit. The device that does this is a NT1. Nearly all U.S. equipment routers, modems...

    Partner rousting restrictions?

The ACS doesn't have any accomodations for ARS or least cost routing. Maybe it's time to move up a Legend 7/Magix. With ETR cards, the same desk sets can be used. Your ACS equipment maintains a high value. This along with annualized toll savings could offset the transition while providing...

    VM to Fax Extension

Auto attendants and personal voice mail greetings are different animals. While this may sound cold, "All-in-one" numbers are notoriously used by small office/home offices trying to take care of everything with one number. Corporate America has grown used to the idea of one number...
