A pretty good explanation of how to handle the situation is found at http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Lost+bookmarks?bl=n#Restoring_bookmark_backups
In checking this out, I learned that it's not so easy to find an actual bookmarks file. I have 7 files that purport to have my bookmarks in...
Free is not a bad price. And you can get it direct from http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ to ensure you have the latest version, and, if you need 'em, the add-ins for .mp3 conversions.

Audacity's effect "Fade Out" is exactly what you're looking for, and their price isn't bad either. Go to http://audacity.sourceforge.net/.

I used to have this problem with Panasonic and Citizen printers when I was using Windows 95, and generally solved it by finding the Epson drives the manufacturer deemed adequate for running the printer. In case of the KXP2130, it's the Epson LQ-860, and its driver is also in WinXP. And the...
Tried googling "furigana microsoft word" and the 2nd result was a direct link to a Word file at http://babel.uoregon.edu/lab113/handouts/Furigana%20in%20Word.doc
I didn't do more than read the file, but it looks doable.
Now all you have to overcome is fear of opening that Word file from the...
Assuming that what you mean by "standard RCA" is both ends being red & white RCA jacks, they'll only work if you've got red & white RCA outputs on your cassette player and red & white RCA inputs on your sound card. As felixc suggested above, the end in your computer is more likely a 1/8" stereo...
Radio Shack is safer, though it seems they’ve gone a bit upscale since I ran one. Check out page http://tinyurl.com/r6phk or look for item#55012881. An older/cheaper version of this is sitting between my cassette player and computer.

Your statement, "and thought I could use it in place of my internal floppy drive" tells me you left the internal floppy drive in place and connected. That would explain why the external USB drive would not be seen as A:. I suspect that your computer will see the USB drive as A: as soon as you...
Somewhere in this laptop's hinge system is a simple microswitch, and for some reason it's (occasionally? Sometimes? always?) activating earlier than it did in the past, I'd suspect a cookie crumb if you eat cookies over the keyboard, but in any case, I would look for a mechanical problem to...
I suspect that connection speed may be the real problem here. If you're on dial-up, that would be the problem. If not, I'd probably check the connection speed to see if perhaps MySpace is running a bit slowly sometimes.

I'm guessing that the Quicklaunch icons are large. Assuming they are, you have the "view" option in Quicklaunch set for "Large Icons" and you want to set it to "Small Icons." Place your cursor at either end of the Quicklaunch bar--just outside of the icon buttons--and right-click. The top menu...
I like attrofy's thinking--I almost never watch the damn thing boot up myself.
One suggestion for tree-huggers (I'm one, so don't hate the name): Try a printer that has an auto-power setting like my Canon Pixma. It turns itself off 'til you send it a print job!

See if you can recover c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\aol\storage\cache.db. As I recall, this was what I moved from my mother's old machine to her new one to populate it with all her AOL settings & data including mail files!

If the file is a .exe file, why are you sure it's a .zip file? There are lots of other executable compressed files besides the .zip type, and none of them allow extraction with the .zip engine. Is there any reason you can't simply move the file to the folder desired and double-click it?

Wow! Just spent an illuminating time checking out the NS8 menus at Netscape.com, and if it's there, it's under Tools > Options. I may have to agree with Juni and go with a downgrade for a while, but first . . . try clearing the history and/or the location bar.

The bad news is that, indeed, Toshiba wants you to send your laptop to them for repair. The not quite so bad news is that maybe someone has the pages you want and a new HD. Google found me http://www.quepublishing.com/articles/article.asp?p=102215&seqNum=3 and perusal of that page found me the...
Since you didn't specify a model I couldn't drill down to the exact page, but if you go to http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_modSel.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1029881634.1120721009@@@@&BV_EngineID=cccfaddfdflflekcgfkceghdgngdgnj.0 and select your machine, the User Manual should give...
And here's the page: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/learnmore/wallpapertoy.mspx (it's in a "Fun Pack").
