I have a hard drive that has gone south. I can still read from it, but it's not bootable. I have slaved it, and during one of the scandisk tests that were run on it, several files were moved from their original locations to a temp scan folder.

Having said that, what I need to find is the name of the folder and/or files that would have housed the AOL favorites on this drive. The internet searches haven't led me to anything. I am not an AOL user, so this is a new challenge for me, and this PC happens to belong to the CEO's wife.

Thanks for your help

Try "C:\Program Files\AOL\" and see if there are any subdirectories in their labeled 'Favorites' or something similar.

I found this on the web, You may want to load it on another box to see if you can determine where it pulls the Favorites from...

Best of luck to you,

Mark

See if you can recover c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\aol\storage\cache.db. As I recall, this was what I moved from my mother's old machine to her new one to populate it with all her AOL settings & data including mail files!

Sloth is the mother of invention. Necessity is just a mother...
