Full backup store newly created data?

When you create the backup, you would have ticked the C:\ drive if you wanted to back it up. As such, new files added to the C:\ drive will get backed up. The backup job as far as its concerned will backup everything in the C:\ drive. note that the tick refers to a "clean" tick, not a gryed one...

    sam file

From memory, this is not too hard. Create an Emergency Repair disk on the machine whose SAM you want. On the machine you want to import the SAM into, boot that machine using a NT CD, there should be a choice to "repair existing installation" or similar. You should then choose the...

What's up with those recruitment firms?

Most recruiters I've met have been clueless about IT. The are generally good talkers who can smooth talk a company and a candidate. A good example is an interview where in the small talk, I found out the recruitment agent was an ex-farmer (not much talk regarding skill level for the job there)...

Remote desktop into more than just the terminal server???

Just curious, what's the performance like when you remote desktop into the main server from your terminal server (assuming you have done this)? From experience it goes much faster than a VNC connection. Claudius (What certifications??) http://www.iteq.com.au

Static Addresses - Wish to set DNS server using script.

The VBS guys will give you a good script for this. As you are in a NT 4 network, the netsh command maybe your friend here. Just need to place it in your logon script. have a look at http://www.petri.co.il/configure_tcp_ip_from_cmd.htm for how to use netsh. Note the "netsh interface ip set dns...

allowing multiple 'FROM' address in outlook/exch 2003

As Marcs41 mentioned, you have to create separate mailboxes for each of the aliases you wish to use in the From field. Give the primary user the right to send on behalf of those users and you're all set. On the admin side of things, setting this up is not hard. Once you create the users and the...

    Public folder problem/question

Are you actually opening the post and then the attachment, or opening the attachment from the preview pane? I believe opening attachments from the preview pane opens them in read only mode. Claudius (What certifications??) http://www.iteq.com.au

Applying your personal settings takes upto 15 minutes

Your domain controller should point to the internal DNS server only (most likely your domain controller). The Internal DNS server should have forwarders set up which would be your ISP's DNS servers. Look above at markdmac's post on how to set forwarders. Claudius (What certifications??)...

    Basic SBS 2003 configuration

Any particular reason EuroDNS servers should be used as forwarders instead of the local ISP DNS server? Also, as EuroDNS appears to be the registrar, why not ask the ISP to create a MX record pointing to the static IP address, and then have EuroDNS nameserver records for the domain point to the...

    IP address and information

Not really to that detail. You can use reverse lookup and see who is hosting them. Even a tracert can give you a good indication of where their location is. For a reverse lookup, try http://www.zoneedit.com/lookup.html Claudius (What certifications??) http://www.iteq.com.au
