The CLJ 2600 printer is host-based and no UPD driver will ever work until HP implements host-based printer support in these drivers.
Use the regular Plug and Play driver instead...
If you plan on printing ordinary worksheets form applications like Ms Office the PCL 6 driver will do just fine.
If you use older templates that were created with or contains PCL specific commands, go for the PCL 5 driver due to compatibility issues.
Lastly if you print a lot of complex...
I have information about two cases where a faulty memory dimm on the formatter caused the display to turn blank and unresponsive until the dimm was replaced.
In both cases, the printer seemed to be working fine hardware wise, since the ADF, ITB, Fuser, etc; make the normal movement noises as...
Please check the two fuses in the LVPS that none of them are blown before continuing.
One is for the fuser directly while the other distributes power to the rest of the printer.
Since the display at least flashes we must assume the display is OK.
Next step would be to check up on connections...
With the printer turned off try remove the fuser and the formatter in the printer.
Start the printer and listen if any motors or fans spin.
If there is "noise", turn off the printer and reinstall the fuser.
Start the printer and listen... If there is "noise" try perform an engine test.
Please...

Have you tested using a UPD (Universal Print Driver) ?

Hello,
Most HP laser printers will actually work with the latest UPD drivers available for any Windows based system unless they are host based (no PCL or PS support)
Is the printer networked or connected via USB ?
If networked then the UPD print driver should work flawlessly else you probably...
I checked some more on the issue and found the springs in the left side next to the transfer roller seems to be able to affect the charge of the cartridge.
Check if any of these springs are missing or bend.
The metal "knobs" on the white plastic plate only seems to check for whether toner seal...
You need to inspect the contact pins in the printer and verify the connection from these to the high voltage part of the PSU.
Start by removing the toner cartridge and check the inside the printer to the left.
There should be a small white plastic place plate with two round metal knobs.
This...
Are you using discrete drivers or have you tested any of the latest UPD drivers ?
Also bidirectional mode in the driver usually has to be enabled for the printer to send feedback.
This issue is caused by bad high voltage connection to the toner catridge. I have reproduced the same issue here on several of the latest HP LaserJets like the P3015 and P4015 printers. The issue can easily be reproduced by blocking one of the contacts on the toner with a piece of tape.
Hi dtwell99,
I have re-uploaded the docs. again here --> http://sprend.com/download.jsp?FileId=BdSFb5qPNPfRT38k2DGt
Also keep an eye out for the next release of HP's UPD v. 5.1.1 that should originally have been released end of August but has been delayed.
The next version should focus on...
A few things to check...
Make sure the paper size/type on the printer is equal on both trays. If type/size is different for the trays, the printer will stop and ask for correct media. Eventually check and print a config page to verify the printer recognizes the paper size/type correctly...
Hi,
Try perform a cold reset first with the NIC installed in the printer. (Cold reset instructions here -> http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c00023439&locale=en_US)
Next go to the IO menu -> Parallel Input -> High Speed = OFF and then also set Advanced...
Hi Mizzy,

Hi,
USB Ports in printers seldom fails, so I would rather look at the SW and HW around the printer like:
How long is the cable you use ?
Do you use a USB HUB or any USB extension chords ?
Cables above 2m might cause problems.
Try disabling windows power save for the USB root hub.
Did you test...
Obtaining firmwares should not really be a problem unless you ask for real old ones or betas.
I have access to most HP LaserJet FW's via my work and they are all public available.
So if you need a specific FW version just post your need in the forum and I'll have a look [wink]
