you could write yourself a sql trigger that would fire off an email anytime an order line is deleted from an order that has been in your system for longer than say....2 days.
we have a similar problem, and we use this trigger to alert people that someone has done the nasty.
we also have a...
by chance are the entries in questy from sales orders that have multiple line #'s?
when you say you created gl accounts for all your class ID's, did you roll down class changes to all items?
I'd hazard a guess that some of your items have gl accounts specified to their cogs account differently...
you could probably create a trigger as well that would populate a table with user login times.
we use a similar trigger to track changes on SOP docs.

you may have better (read easier) results if you used the description field that contained the percentage as a text value. It would be easier to insert into your report that way.

you probably will have to create a custom report for that. I'm pretty sure the GP boys didn't think of using Phantoms the way you are suggesting.
(btw.... I use it that way too in another manuf. system)

yes, needs to have ALL open transactions closed and moved to history.... big pain. You could just update the item master table to the decimals you need.. I found adding more decimals doesn't cause a problem, but losing them does.
of course that's my opinion and does not reflect what the manual...
we have gp and other sql ap's running on a virtual machine without any hiccups. took a while to streamline and tweak the server to run sql 2005 properly but in the end it works well and is extremely fault tollerant.
nice thing about virtualizing is that you can cluster in the future on the...
if you deny access to the screen, then they can't get to it from anywhere. ie I accidentally denied access to items lookup once and no one was able to access it from any module...sales,purchasing,inventory, bom.

no no, not that notes field.
Perhaps I should correct my choice of words. I should have said sales order line details comment.
on the sales order detail area, click the expansion button (in v10 it is the arrow next to the item note) to get to the sales order line details screen.
On this...
by hitting the expansion button on the sales order detail line, there is a notes field associated with the actual sales line that you can freeform enter text into. I do believe that by default this even prints on the stock sales order form but you may have to play with the formatting and allow...
you might try checklinks on your inventory as well. It'll either correct it or send the item back to serialized.

if you have items marked as serial or lot then when doing transactions they must be transfered as such. ie when adjustment is made you must pick the inventory with the serial or lot.
if you do not, then the adjustment will just create additional inventory

is it possible to scan the database for tables that don't look like GP tables (possibly those pesky hms tables?) and backthem up/delete them?
if the tables aren't there then wouldn't utilities just cruise on past?
