was just checkin' macromedia site and took one copy of flash MX 2004 proffesional. Thats the solution for the problem. You can choose what character set you want to embedd... excellent!!! Keep on doing a good work Macromedia!

Its has been already more than 1 year since this thread was written, is there still no solution?
Some special characters don't show up if font is embedded. I have prticularly problem with Czech characters "ý" and "r" (159 and FD in unicode)

also try simply rename, instead of .bin put .jpg,.gif, or ask your client which format was it and use propper extention.

exactly, this job for Photoshop, but if you are really willing to do it in Illustrator, you can use the blending modes in transparency palette to convey some effects.

you can try to have a look on appearance tab, look if there is first icon checked ( new art has basic appearance) and if its not, check it....
If it doesn´t work, select the invisible line and look at the parameters, does it still have line assigned or not?

if you make a path with no line and no fill than it logically is not visible. You have to determine the properties of the path befor you make it and/or edit it afterwards. Look on tool bar what is in the line and fill boxes when you are drawing.

well, this feature is called "automate batch" and you find it in File>automate>batch.
Before you start with this, just create a simple action for save as... your desired format.
Than you can choose to open files from whatever folder or just use open files and so on.... you will see...

Well, I don´t know if u use PC or Mac, but the if you want to save yourself from messing around with fonts, just convert text to outlines (ctrl(cmnd)+shift+O) before printing.

Well your message is a bit confusing, but if I understand you right you get a printing problems with files imported to quark (probably EPS files??) if they contain some patterns.
Try this: when you are done with filling your object with pattern and you are satisfied with how the pattern looks...
Im not sure if I understand "them" well, but when they try to make sample without dithering the edges, they can try to apply stamp into selection

Once you have a path around an image, make sure that path is on the top of the image.Than you have to select "BOTH!!" image and path and than you make clipping mask (object > clipping mask > make)
Othervise just go to photoshop, make background of your image transparent and go to help...
