Avaya Onex communicator not getting connect

I know this does not help, but I just fought this same issue for over a month. The user eventually told me that it started working again and I never figured out why. The only thing I do know is that the his softphone was sending the registration request to the CM and the CM was responding with...

    Avaya 4620 displaying "Ext.= #=OK New=" ?

Also, try duplicating the extension to a new extension number. Removed and then readd the original extension. Could be something corrupt in the database and rebuilding can sometimes fix the issue.

    Avaya 4620 displaying "Ext.= #=OK New=" ?

You will want to login and 'change station <extension>' and then look for the field "Security Code". That will be where the password is set.

Paging (G450 Gateway using External UTI1 Bogen Paging Amp)

Have you tried just dialing the TAC of your trunk to see if that works? We have a paging system at a remote site, so I cannot tell you make/model, but that is how it is setup in CM for users to access.

    End point group assosciation

Are you referring to the 'IP Phone Group ID" found on page 3 of the station form?

    inactive LSP reboot affecting calls

I have seen LSPs bounce in my environment with no reports of phone issues. I do not think that the reboot of the LSP is causing your phone issues, but rather, a symptom of another issue. You may have a bad board, the LSP or whatever else is installed. Even if you are running tests against the...

    WebLM

I was not able to find a way to see which system was using the license in WebLM. In CM, I did a 'list reg reg' and looked for a Product ID of "IP_eCons" and you can get the IP address of the system(s).

    cdr1 and cdr2

Yes, you can have two separate CDR streams. Currently, I have CDR1 going to a call accounting system and CDR2 going to a call recording system. I think the only catch you would run into is if both systems require separate 'customized' outputs. I am able to accomplish mine with one being...

    Ghost ringing

For ghost calls on a POTS line I have had to either have the LEC test the line and clear the issue all the way to having to replace the line itself. If you are able to switch to another POTS, try that and see if it helps.

    G450 Issues

Have you gone in and verified that those services are in a 'running' state?

    CM 7

I would hope that we get some info on CM 7 next week during IAUG.

    B179 Sound Quality

Newer firmware is available, so you may want to give that a shot first.

How to make an IP phone failover to LSP after power outage

What model phones are you using? If it is the 46xx series, you should be putting the LSP IP in the DHCP option. If it is the 96xx series, you should be placing the node name of the LSP on page 3 of the network region under "BACKUP SERVERS".

    MG FW Upgrades

I just performed the same upgrade recently, CM 6.0.1 to 6.3.8. I upgraded all MG firmware about a month ahead of upgrading the 8300s and then my core servers. I upgraded my MEDPROs after the CM upgrade and have yet to touch my other TN boards. No issues. I think as long as the firmware you...

Avaya Client Applications (ACA) 6.3 - With MS Lync 2010/2013

I do not remember exactly where, but you can do a search for 'TelephonyMode' and change the setting from 5 to 0 and that will give Lync back the video control.

Avaya Client Applications (ACA) 6.3 - With MS Lync 2010/2013

I have 6.3.2 installed and I had to hack my registry to give video control back to Lync. It would be great if it was a choice during deployment.

    Push out patches?

Not sure if you have access to it, but I'm still using the old Software Update Manager(SUM) (this now lives on System Manager, just haven't made the transition). I just pushed CM 6.3.9 to 32 LSP sites at the same time and they were done within 20-30 minutes. SUM is quite finicky, so pushing...

    EC500 and auth codes

My way around this issue was to create a unique route pattern and just assign it with a higher FRL so that it would forgo the auth code.

    Loopstart vs Groundstart

I am not aware of a workaround for the G250. You could ask the LEC to reprovision the line as loop. We have done that in the past.
