We are in the process or replacing Cisco firewalls with Checkpoint Firewalls. Because of the way the Checkpoint firewall fails over to backup our network team is asking me if any of the Avaya equipment connected to the firewall has any issues with Gratuitous ARP cache requests. They mentioned...
Cannot get my windows 7 search to find Applications or programs. Have changed the indexing settings, but nothing seems to be working. When I go in to modify the indexing settings it says that it is Excluding Program Data; Date;Default;Appdata. How do i get it to include program and app data...
I have a remote ESS site in another state with IP connectivity (2 T-1's into Junipers) between the remote site and the main location. Many users in both sites either dont know they can, dont remember they can, or for whatever reason just don't 5 digit dial between sites. They Dial out LD...

You can add an Agent ID or Range of agent ID's into the Pub-Unkn-numb table. It does not have to be the station extension in that table. As long as they are logged in to make their outbound calls, it will outpulse what is assigned to their Agent ID.
We use it here for multiple different agent...
How do you have your music sources setup? I would say setup your music only as an announcement extension and put that extension in the vector step. Then use your music+Ads as the system music for all tenant partitions so that any call placed on hold would hear that. You could eliminate the...
What type of call volume traffic to you have across your WAN link? We had an issue where the wan link was engineered using G.729 Codec but was implemented using G.711. We had issues during peak call volumes where the bandwidth would max out with Call traffic and the IPSIs would lose connection...
Havent heard anything specific customcracka, we are just not negotiating any new contracts, etc. We have also had a VERY poor experience with them and I would personally like to be done with them altogether. I have spent nearly 2 years trying to get them to get our billing and media shipments...
Anyone Have any suggestions on a potential replacement for muzak service? With Muzak's future in question, we are being proactive and looking for a "Muzak-like" service for music on hold in multiple locations around the country. We are just exploring options in the event that Muzak does not...
I believe you need R14.1 for Vista compatability, but with R15 out you might as well go to that as it is backward compatable and should have vista support built in as well.
You can download an ISO of the software here...
If you aren't going to use Virtual stations and woud prefer the VDN/Vector approach, you can setup 1 vector that says 'messaging skill x for extension active' instead of 'messaging skill x for extension x"
Point all the DID-VDN's to that vector. The "active" VDN will be whichever one the call...
If you are going to do it in the coverage path, use the remote call coverage table. 'change cov rem' or 'cha cov rem 1' (depending on your CM Version) Add your number (including the ARS 9 if off-pbx) on an available line. Then do 'change cov path x' and put rxx (xx= entry in remote coverage...
Cost wise, BSR is probably your best bet. If your existing systems in both locations are fairly up to date, then it wouldnt make sense to just junk one and hang an LSP or ESS. If you need to replace one anyway and there is money to do it, then go LSP or ESS. We use BSR very heavily between...

Look under Chapter 5 for Maintenance object Medpropt. It gives descriptions of error codes and testing procedures.
hope this helps.
If you feel like spending money :) There are several 3rd party applications like Spectrum or Inova Solutions that offer an "agent desktop dashboard" that displays queue info on an agents machine. We use Spectrum Wallboards in our contact center, but our Help Desk uses the desktop dashboard for...
Is there any reason you couldnt change the search order to UDP first? If you could change that setting, it would be a bit cleaner setup and wouldnt end you up in a possible gotcha situation...
Yes, just assign your extension 1234 as a vdn. I usually assign them and label them with "UDP Range Only". It doesnt really matter what any of the vdn settings are, because the system won't really be looking at it as a VDN extension because it is looking for that entry in the UDP table first...
I mark my UDP ranges with VDN's so that someone doesnt grab an extension and assign it for use as something other than a UDP extension. It works, but you have to make sure your UDP Extension Search Order is UDP-table-first.
