Check out the Cisco web site for the latest version of the CCNA test.

I believe that boson.com has a free TFTP software. Look under the 'freebies' section. You'll also find a program to crack passwords on routers (but not the secret level passwords).

The 'any' in your example states to match (and permit)any source going to the destination network of 192.168.1.0. If it were:
access-list 110 permit ip 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.255 any
That would mean to permit the source network of 192.168.1.0 to go to any destination.

ITA. Make sure that you pay attention to the small little details of the question. That will be the difference between pass or fail on the exam. You will see several correct answers on the exam but make sure that you read the question carefully and pick out the small little details to...
Hello All,
I have been tasked with finding a solution to a common problem. We are running Solaris 8. We have a generic username of 'oracle' that is used for the oracle systems and database administrators. In the past, we have had problems where 2 or 3 adminiistrators are logged in as...
If you have taken the CCNA you will find there is alot that is the same. Be prepared to read scenario-based type questions and answer. You may have 2-4 case studies that you will have to go through and answer questions on.
Know the different types of equipment and what would be appropriate...
-Know how to troubleshoot ISDN and any command asscociated with it and at what level they test.
-Be prepared for fill-in the blank type questions
-Be familiar with Cisco's homepage and how to find help on it
-Understand 'show' commands and be able to explain what a particular field means...
From the 407 test to the 507 test there were only a few differences. In the 507 test, there were more switching questions about configuration commands. In the 407, it was a few questions on theory and concept. Also, the 507 test had a bit more WAN questions then the 407 test.

If the above thread didn't help, here is a possibility of what could be the problem:
It sounds like the switch is still configured from it's last home. And that they were using TACAC's. You are going to have to somehow delete all the configuration parameters involving TACACs from the switch...
For the switching commands, they will ask for a command for a specific switch. Most likely, both commands will be present in the choices so make sure you pay attention to the question!!
As for the router IOS, the last time I took a Cisco test that had the 'fill in the blank' type questions...
From my past experiences with the exam, they don't take the answer till you click on 'ENTER'. Typo's happen, just make sure it is correct before you submit your final answer.

Are you talking about the actual Cisco exam? Or just a practice test? If you are talking about the actual exam, any misspellings are counted wrong. As a matter of fact:
"rout rip" would be considered wrong even though that command will enable RIP on a router. However, that last...
Looking at your other certs (A+ and Net+)and then coupling that with the CCNA, I would say try applying for an entry level in the help desk arena. Once you get your foot in the door there, you can make friends with the network shop and let them know that you are eager and available to...
I also agree. Lammle's book is the best study guide I have found for CCNA. His books are not the greatest for CCNP. I was able to pass the CCNA w/ just this book, however, I also taught a Cisco class for over a year and had working experience. But several of my students went on and just...
I agree with ste1. It is considered an advanced distance vector protocol. That is what you will see in the Cisco publications. And for all intents and purposes, that is the answer they want to see.
This is straight from the Designing Large Scale IP Networks by CiscoPress.
Enhanced IGRP is...
I agree with all the above posts. CiscoPress is WAY to detailed for what you will need for the test but the Sybex book is not detailed enough. I suggest getting the 2 of them learning what is in the Sybex book and then dive a bit deeper with the CiscoPress.
A good place to get practice exams...
You are correct. The output shows status for layer 1 and 2. If the status said Serial S0 up and line protocol down, then you would have a layer 2 problem.

You are correct. The output shows status for layer 1 and 2. Since network, transport and session are all above layer 2, physical is your only option. If the status said Serial S0 up and line protocol down, then you would have a layer 2 problem.
