Ink for the 860 & 8200 are chemically the same.
When Xerox developed the 8200, they found out that the yield per ink stick was actually a little bit higher than they put in their documentation.. so the 8200 sticks are a little smaller as well. But I'm a 100% sure they are chemically the same...
The black and white gear definitely have a part number and can be ordered (although they are DC4 part numbers, they also fit the phaser 780.. ordering the complete fuser tray will be a waste of money and more expensive than you would expect).
Xerox -has- to give you the partnumber if you ask for...

840/850 printhead are practically identical. so are the 860/8200 printheads. ink was changed from the 840/850 but can be swapped out among these 2 printers (some color differences between the 2 machines though and they use different color lookup tables)...
From the top of my head, press the back and info buttons during power on. This should bring you into diagnostics.
Try printing some color test pages from within diagnostics, to rule out any problems with your IP Board. There might also be a dip switch on the print engine board to allow test...
If there is a problem with the kick plate, you should see print quality issues in all colors. Not just one. This would be easy to tell from the diagnostics pages (which jet is blocked, or if there's another problem).
Like TCouch said, if there is a problem with this plate, Xerox will replace it...
Do you have access to a service manual, or do you know how to adjust the printhead-to-drum spacing?
It shouldn't be needed on the 850 or later models, but it might be worth the try.
I know that just the heat of the printhead is enough to keep the drum on temperature, without the paper preheater...
I think you replaced the cartridge too early, the counter may only reset when you put a new cartridge in the machine when there is a "replace" message on the front panel. Don't think it'll reset with a "low" message.
When you look on right the side of the machine through the ventilation holes, you should see the bulbs in the preheater flashing. -Are- they flashing, or are they on solid?

Some more info on your errors:
I've got a strong feeling that you might have taken the upper feed roller assy apart (by accident) and did not put it back together correctly when you were replacing the preheater.
Did you try reseating these assemblies?

The phaser 800 series don't use a registration assembly & solenoid? Can you please be more specific as to where the jam is occuring?

I believe that in Europe printheads are only available for purchase by service personal eg trained and certified technicians.
Why are you looking to buy a new printhead if the one that is in your machine now is still working? It will probably cost you close to 2000 euros/dollars if you are able...
A tech can not change the purge time.
There are 3 types of purges on these machine. If after the first purge, you select the cleaning procedure again within a few minutes the machine will do a heavier purge. And if you do it again after that, an even heavier one.

When you remove the paperjam and look at the stripper finger assy (lifts the paper from the drum), is this down or up?
If down, this could possibly mean a transfix shaft problem and replacement of the drum transfix assy or a process motor problem.

Sounds like the x-axis motor isn't moving the printhead from left to right. (this could be a mechanical or electrical problem)

Sounds like your accumulator belt cleaner is stuck to the accumulator belt. This would cause the machine to only print black. The other colors are wiped off by the blade.
You could try the Xerox Docuprint NC60 or C55 driver from (www.officeprinting.xerox.com).
This is, as far as I know, the only PCL 5C (PCL version 5, color) driver available from Xerox. It probably won't give you the extra options as print quality / tray selection / etc that you would get from...
