In my neck of the woods, we offer maintenenace contacts based upon - mostly - a per port monthly charge - with or without set replacement - and another charge for the Voice Mail. Usually a factor of 10 ports per one voice mail port. In other words one voice mail port = 10 station/trunk ports...
Norstar 4.1
NAM using the Automated Attendant.
Is there a way to restrict certain extensions from being called through A/A?
The A/A is used 24/7.
The owners don't want certain extensions receiving ANY calls to prevent personal call through the A/A, particularly at night.
For example...
This is an Option 11C 25.40 with OTM.
The customer is always calling me asking how to do things that I can do manually, etc. etc...and I don't want to mess up his OTM.
Here's my question:
What is the easiest way to add a Individual Speed Call button on a M2616, key 14?
1) Is it easier...
That is a great idea, ITAS...
A lot of people are using MOH these days, cuz it's marketing on hold...

Multitech makes some great Gateways.
They have very helpful tech support, but it does take some good old fashioned telco know how to understand how it all works...

Also, MCK Extenders may provide a solution for you...
With Loop Start, you may have "collisions"....Just make sure the 1st incoming is the LAST choice in the line pool. Other than that ... timing IS everything...
Add lines, remove lines from the CO hunt group or add lines to the pool if it becomes a problem.

MCK - if you want them to have M or T Series phones at the remote location.
If you've used them, you're familiar with the setup.
I have found them refurbished in the past year.
If you want to connect them via an analog port, check out the Multitech FXS / FXO VOIP Gateway - about $250 ~ $300...
Best I can probably MAYBE do is to shorten VMS cover rings to two and give them manual VMS Cover buttons....
That will be one ring LESS disturbing and will allow a ICM *XX or Group Page.
Thanks for the feedback - no pun intended...

Trouble is there aren't enough pairs in the area and it's an old Post Office building .... like Fort Knox to cable.

Look again (above).....
Long Tones is F808 .. .not 809.
Of course the "loop around" idea is better, more permanent and reliable, if you spend the time to hook it up and program it.
Good luck!

One of the sets has a FNA set to fewer rings than the A/A. (In "Lines")
If a set has lines that A&R and it has fewer rings set for FNA than the A/A .... its Voice Mail (Not yet initialized) will answer the calls before the A/A gets it.

If I read this correctly, you may need to dial F808 for "Long Tones". This will send DTMF over an internal call.
This issue comes up when trying to use a third party voice mail system connected to a Norstar.
F808 - Long Tones - am I correct?

I had this SAME problem two weeks ago on MerMail 13.
Even though the database looked like it was there - (we were able to view all of the mailboxes, etc.) - the system stayed in LOADING. Even after rebooting from 2 good backups.
Nothing else we tried helped... I was surprised that the system...
Thanks, John.
Yes, they are 4 Digit DID's, (22XX,23XX,34XX) but they don't need to be.
We haven't installed them yet - they are just exploring options.
These phones are replacing Pay Phones that are being removed.
They have 12 ports of Meridian Mail 13.
I'll look into the Meridian...
