MLS-18D phones.

It's an architectural firm, and there are two employees who work in an upstairs area....away from the rest of the employees.

The two employees upstairs put their phones in "Do Not Disturb" at times when they are working in their office.

Is there a way for the boss to override the DND to be able to reach these guys when they are in DND? (Paging would disrupt the entire office) A way to reach these phones when they are in DND or a workaround?

Thanks!

Take away their DND buttons? Install loudspeaker paging in their area only? Install a 3rd extension, without a DND button for their area?

Thanks ... I think it will be "Door #3"...

Trouble is there aren't enough pairs in the area and it's an old Post Office building .... like Fort Knox to cable.

We'll have to see if there are some pairs nearby or tell them to use the broom handle on the ceiling method....lol

In reading the feature description for DND, it appears phone paging is NOT excluded. So you can put those stations in a calling group and voice page them on their phones only, not the whole office. For example, stations 17 and 18 are in the loft area. So program 17 abd 18 into calling group 74. Then to page those phones only, you would press ICL *74 and speak! Either station can answer by picking up their handset and pressing ICL.

Best I can probably MAYBE do is to shorten VMS cover rings to two and give them manual VMS Cover buttons....

That will be one ring LESS disturbing and will allow a ICM *XX or Group Page.

Thanks for the feedback - no pun intended...

TTT, I was reading in the wrong part of the manual. Are there any overrides for DND?

So if you have two spare pairs going up there, you could put another phone w/o DND and page or ring that one.

No overides for DND.

You could also use a door phone, single pair, doesn't actually need to be programmed as a door phone extension, that way it's 1 pair, and will auto answer just like multiline extension.
