hi tjsluey (IS/IT--Management),
Seems you have a problem that I last week. Get a copy of SQL 2000 and install Enterprise Manager from the CD.
open Enterprise Manager and open a new connection using yourservernam\BKUPEXEC as an administrator.
Develop the windows to see the data base and then...
Hi Burnzdog,
If you have the time to research the problem then try and suss it out, personally I'll bet its a jar file or something which is open or in use by some other process.
Drill down to this selection in job backup properties and deselect it at the lowest possible level.
I consider...
Hi rn4it,
I know it is possible to RDesktop to a VPN client but we can't see the client in DNS or . How do you we do this with Checkpoint SecureRemote?
Thanks for any help in advance
Hi all,
We have an issue with Checkpoint SecureRemote clients. We cannot take cotrol of their machine as their is no way of associating their machine name and IP address. Checkpoint NAT's client addresses and gives them an address from a pool which I defined but there is no DNS trace anywhere...
Hi motoslide,
I hope your day is going as well as mine.
After following the procedure I had just a hiccup with the device name when I wanted to modify the mount configuration file.
This was in fact was /dev followed by /filesystem_name.
I can't really thank you how I would like to but a star...
Hi Motoslide,
I have RAID 1 set for the OS and a RAID 1 set for DATA and my environments PROD etc.
I can see that logical drives exist on the splash screen when the server boots.
I don't understand why one machine does this.
I have the latest bootloader 5.64a for the DL380 server.
I have an...
Hi all,
I have had on several occasions this problem of the second logical drive not being recognised during the SCO 5.0.7 installation.
I thought at first it was because the disks (mirrors)were not fully initialised then I thought maybe the disks needed erased with the HP utility.
I used...
Hi,
I think my only option is as VIPERGG says "find the source" and act accordingly. I can locate the talkers but the switches seem to be realaying the packets. Once I know what parameters are not right I can correct them.
We have 90 servers, about 50 printers and 550 users onsite.
All cisco...
Hi,
I would like to know if anyone has found a way to look into Netbackup's Data Folders and identify users files. Our director lost his hard disk and is screaming at us to find his files. We use Netbackup Pro 3.5. W2K SP4.
Any body found a way of decrypting the User/owner to files...
Hi,
We have a lot of broadcast traffic on our LAN and would like to know if there is anything on our 2950 Cats that could be configured to keep this to a minimum.
We have one VLAN per site and 30+ switches around a Cat 4000 core.
Does anyone have any idea?
Hi,
I think you are talking about two different things here.
The retention period is for the data not for the server. If you have to recreate your environment then you will obviously have lots of problems.
I work in a very large pharmaceutical environment and we adapt the data produced by...
I have a problem where our project team have installed a Siebel test environment which only works when a certain account is logged in to the server. I checked all services to see if any were dependant on this account but I can see none.
I think it comes from a configuration error in Regional...
Tekmazter,
Looks more like a DNS WINS issue but you better copy the "sh conf"s to text files and check out the configuration of you network equipment.
My money is on a Microsoft DNS or WINS error though. Also you should have a WINS server on both sites for all your windows stuff.
Zych,
DHCP is a network service not an AD Windows obbligation. DNS is also a service.
Set up the DHCP with seperate address scopes. In one of them create reservations to map the MAC addresses to the four/five machines with the IP address range different from the other network.
The server can...
Hi Cisscott,
10.0.0.0 is a Class A private network /8 255.0.0.0 by default your DHCP server will suggest the mask should be but you can change it
10.10.0.0 is Class B technically /16 255.255.0.0
10.10.120.0 is Class C /24 255.255.255.0 technically
If the DHCP server options are greyed there...
SKHOURY,
We have 300 external users with unchangeable passwords but once or twice we have had the embarassing occasion to have to recall the Laptop because of this.
Don't think you can do anything except give her a local account and password if you have one on the Laptop. Need to talk to the...
SKY14657,
Disactivate the antivirus services associated with the Antivirus application. See if the problem stops.Often the RAM is used up quickly by antivirus programs and the hard reset is the answer.
The thing is it can be a modification somewhere else that creates this condition.
I think you...
Luckdog,
Do you know anything about VLANs or subnetworks?
What I think you want here is a DMZ, a subnet that does not have the same network addresses as your LAN and is accessible for guest users like internet sites.
Hello Ronel17
As Shreks mentioned, in your script you add a new line for each mapped share.
Be aware that users mapping things by themselves might block your script if for examploe they use the same letter.
