I did not get an answer either...but it seems if
1. I make a new SMTP Virtual Server and set it up.
2. Stop the default SMTP VS
everything runs fine.
On reboot the new on starts up, but the old one does not.

2. Microsoft Tech claims that Exchange 2003 supports POP3 email, but I don't know how it works.

In Control Panel, Mail, Add MS Exchange service. You will need the server name (not the domain) and the user name. Be sure to click on CHECK NAME.
If it underlines, you have the connection.

For each line of the two batch files you put the entire name of each Exchange service in quotes. The actual names are under Services.
You can stop and start this...
It may run a mini install/setup for each new user, but I do not think it is a unique copy.
Also, did you install it or move it to ALL USERS under Documents and Settings?

Also enable WINS from Internet/IP configuration (also the IP address of the server) on the server and the work stations...
Set DNS pointing to NT4 Server 192.168.0.10 NOT the Router. Not sure if you did this already.
