Does anyone know how to set XP up so that when office 2000 and some other pieces of software are installed they are immediately available to all users on a shared XP workstation. It seems to want every user to install seperately.

This even happens with printers!

Thanks

Richard

That IS office XP. You can share users under some versions of Office 2000.

I am talking about Office 2000 on winxp. Not office XP. This is also happening with printers, Outlook and other programs.

It may run a mini install/setup for each new user, but I do not think it is a unique copy.

Also, did you install it or move it to ALL USERS under Documents and Settings?

Under Windows XP office 2000 is defaultly setup to install shortcuts etc in the all users folder. I suspect that you must either change this option when installing Office, or that you have the PC set up in such a way that this is not possible. Have you tried just running the program from the other users deskyop. I.e. Adding a new short cut, before installing on the new users account. Also were you logged in as administrator when instaling the software?
