Unable to login to IP Agent v5

try checking if the extension is already active or used. Try command "sta sta 2495". If it is on serv-onhook, it means it is already registered or somebody is already using that extension.

    MultiVOIP in Canada

VOIP is all about bandwidth and QOS. If you are using VOIP on desktop or laptop, it must be configured properly for VOIP. There's a QOS parameter that needs to be set to have good voice quality. Another thing, it is better to set the ETH port to 100Mb Full Duplex Setting rather than setting it...

Migrating to 5 digit dial plan

migrating from a 4 digit to more than that is difficult. Having the provision helps but it still requires good project management. Plan it ahead along with AVAYA eng'r or AVAYA BP, it is better to have them around rather than sourcing for support in the middle of the activity.

    Codec G729a vs G729b

G.729x has the same compression ratio; the distinction of a or b is just another add on feature by using the said compression ratio. We're using also G.729 but without the a or b, much better. I believe the G.729a has something to do with the silence suppression. But if bandwidth is of no...

    Can I "lock" a station ???

Have you tried activating the station lock feature? this can prevent stations features being used by others even if you moved them physically to a different location.

    Conference calls

are you using an IP phone in dialing the conf brdg number? I do experience this also; tried changing a parameter on the Ip phone (801.q something) to on rather than auto. changed the eth int to 100MB full duplex also. its now working.

Any way to limit IP registrations?

if only 5 ip softphone on one group only, then best way is to let hem log themselves the extension with password. in this manner, you can restrict any of them using more than 5 licenses. email them the extension and corresponding password before the start of the shift. :)

    ISDN E1 - Problem

setting up ISDN E1 as connection to telco provider is difficult. If your HW test loop back works fine, then it is a telco to PBX config problem. try asking for the configuration settings on the telco side, maybe you can see the config conflict.
