Attachmate Closes (crash) on print screen

We have basicaly given up on this issue. As attachmate havent come back to us with a way to resolve this. we have found you can use other drivers such as the HP Laserjet 4 etc and it works fine. We have just told users to NOT do screen prints and use the application print functions within the...

    BO reports 'closing' BO client

Hi, We have 3 reports that users access that are closing (crashing) the BO client to the desktop without error messages. Other users that use these reports report no problems. We have carried out a clean install on each of the workstations (XP SP1) and cleared out the users profiles but the...

    Flash player auto update

Hi, Looking on the Macromedia site it says there is no way to prevent AUTO UPDATE. I NEED to prevent this process .. cant have 10k users all going out one at a time to get the update. We dont deploy flash as standard to our org, as non of the internal web sites need it - eg it just for normal...

    Group Policy and Internet Explorer

One way of doing it is to remove the web page setting from your GPO then create a new gpo with just the web page settings and apply it lower down on the AD tree. When you get to the OU you want to have a different web page. Create another GPO with the different web page settings and apply it...

    New Printers Install in AD

Hi I was wondering if any has a quick way to add 1000 printers to AD (win 2003) in different OU's with the same driver settings? Fortunately they are all the same printer make and model. I was thinking there MUST be a way to script this.

Dreamweaver without local drive with FPSE 2002

Quick note for DaRNCaT - 99% of all our pages are ASP with SQL backend connections - eg wont work locally.

Dreamweaver without local drive with FPSE 2002

Cheech, thx for that :) we had already tried that but found it was way to slow for the users to use and this is the problem atm. It appears that the way dreamweaver works is fundamentaly different from frontpage. DW insists that you edit the files locally (be it on your pc or maped drive)...

Dreamweaver without local drive with FPSE 2002

No dont think you get it :) we dont have the facilities for them to work localy. There is no way the users can D/L 350GB of data to his 40GB local hard drive (its a big internal web site). We have 2 web servers 1 for testing/bulding on and 1 for live. So they build their website on the test...

can view http://localhost, but cant view it from another network pc

May be worth checking the permissions both on the web site and NTFS. With w2k3 it flips the permissions around compared to w2k so unless you set up to allow permissions you dont get access. May be worth checking the anon account (if your using it) has NTFS permissions on the folder that is...

    Inherit Permissions when file moved

Just thinking .. how are you moving the files. Is it within an application? If not you can always use a batch file to move the files then use xcals at the end of the batch file to change the permissions. If its something you need to move on a regular basis set up windows scheduler to 'run'...

Sorry its 'Delete Cached copies of roming profiles' and is within Computer settings/Admin templates/User Profiles. and should be disabled. Inherit Permissions when file moved

Not quite sure if this will help but you can give it a try http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=812009&page=1 Worked for me .. but was moving from 1 server to another keeping the same permissions. You could always move the files/folders to another partition or just reset the permissions.

XP Pro Laptop - Roaming or Mandatory Profile??

Hi max You can use either but a mandatory profile will prevent the user from changing anything when they logoff and back on. Personaly would recomend a roaming profile with folder syncronisation .. BUT !!!! remember to turn off DELETE PROFILE ON LOCAL MACHINE (its a double negative in gpo...
