To tell you the truth I try to avoid HH or ADC whenever possible. Unless your in a hosted situation. It has proven somewhat difficult and at times made many a network admin bald.
If you do need further help, I'll check in later.

When you are adding the users how are you specifying their name? Is it username@domain.local or DOMAIN\Username? Ensure you are using DOMAIN\username.
As Thomas notes ensure you have completed a full import from AD to your Profile DB.
Also when you go to 'Manage Users', under site settings...
One thing you can take a look at is the ISAPI filters on the actual Virtual Server or Web Site in IIS. I have seen issues where a citrix or another programs ISAPI filter is placed above stsfltr in the IIS VS or WS. Ensure stsfltr is the top priority, or if possible is the only ISAPI filter...
One other solution would be to not even touch your initial portal as regards SSL.
- Create another IIS virtual Server, and from the WSS options in central admin do an 'extend and map' to the portal virtual server.
- Then on the 'New' virtual server implement your SSL. Leaving the initial...
In your managed paths did you create an explicit inclusion for the site you are creating? Remember WSS will not allow you create a site under the top level url. You must create an Explicit Inclusion for that.
Give it a try and let us know.

Yes you can do that. A couple of ways, one is using SMIGRATE, and the other using STSADM.
With either you can backup the site, and then restore under the top level portal. In the Portal Admin guide look under backup and restore using either of those command lines and it will give you a step...
Hey JMVSE,
Sorry didn't respond was out of town.
OK, basically the Non_portal_index will handle all of the WSS team sites below http://>portal_name</* that would include all the sites under the sites inclusion, like http://portalname/sites/teamsitename.
As Thomas correctly states, only the...
In the Portal Site Settings, under Configure Search and Indexing, you will need to switch to Advanced Mode. It is a good thing in any case.
Then browse down to the bottom and look for Manage Site Directory. Look under Approved Sites, and see if your sites are there if not, you'll need to add...
In any of those cases previous to or after restoring the original content database did you then remove the original default content database?
Also in your SBS implmentation did you have any 'Managed Paths' or custom inclusions that are not on this server? Did you have any custom Host Headers...
As Thomas said STSADM will make a complete backup of your WSS site or site group into a file you specify then you can back that file up to tape. However if you are using SQL for your backend databases, you can also use the SQL backup to backup the Config and Content databases there. I don't...
As far as I am aware, there is no way around this. Exchange OWA is going to prompt you no matter what, thats expected behaviour from Exchange when using this implementation. That is unless you write code specific to your needs.

One thing you may need to look at is adding those sites you have restored to the site Directory in SPS2003. And the you must specify whether to crawl the sites or not. When you restored the WSS subsites, where did you restore them? Was it under the default /sites inclusion? Or do you have...
Hey Patrick,
If there is one bit of advice I will give you when upgrading from E55 to E2K3, is to take your time and do things right.
Below is a few bits of information which will help you understand whats happening. Including the ADC whitepaper, nevermind its for Exchange 2000, it still...
HI zbnet,
I apologize that is a serious bit of misinformation on my part. I did not think to correct that on review of the post.
That statement reflects my personal preference on offline defragmentation, in a very small environment, mainly 1 Exchange 5.5 server and at the most 2 Exchange 5.5...
Sorry for the many posts.
But just so you know for Exchange 2000 the interface for Exchange is called "Exchange System Manager", and for Exchange 5.5 it was called "Exchange Administrator", both should appear after installation in the "Microsoft Exchange" menu.
If its not there, look inthe...

For Outllok 2003 in cached mode, it will use the offlince address book for its GAL lookup. Here is where your issue comes up:
The RUS can take time to run against your users changes. Then the OAB will usually get updated around 5:00am in the morning, this can be changed though. Here comes...
