Moving a WSS Site into the Portal

One of our users has created a WSS team site, which they now want to move into the portal, rather than having to re-create it.

Is it possible in any way to move a WSS site into the portal or even just the contents?

Yes you can do that. A couple of ways, one is using SMIGRATE, and the other using STSADM.

With either you can backup the site, and then restore under the top level portal. In the Portal Admin guide look under backup and restore using either of those command lines and it will give you a step by step answer on how to do it.
