Hi We currently have two sharepoint servers, one WSS and one SPS. We are in the process of migrating from WSS to the portal site.
My problem is the portal site is not populating the usernames for AD. It only has the user name of the logged in user. The userinformation.aspx has only the logged in user. So I cannot use the lookup on userinfomation. Can somebody help me with this problem?

Hello,

I am not really sure if I understand exactly what you mean, but in the Portal, have you imported your AD accounts into the SharePoint profile database? Doing that, all your user accounts will be listed in the profile database and you will be able to search for them and also use them in audiences.

Cheers,
Thomas

When you are adding the users how are you specifying their name? Is it username@domain.local or DOMAIN\Username? Ensure you are using DOMAIN\username.

As Thomas notes ensure you have completed a full import from AD to your Profile DB.

Also when you go to 'Manage Users', under site settings, change the users.aspx page to siteusrs.aspx, so the URL would look like this:

Here you can ensure the display name is correct, and if not, you can correct it here.

Hope that helps.
