If it comes down to you pulling the fiber yourself, keep in mind and whoever would be helping install, DO NOT PULL THE FIBER STRANDS. Meaning there is a strengthening member within the cable that shoulb be used the actually pull. This will cut down the risk of too much strain and stress to the...

Well, I guess i'll see soon what good "really world" experience is going to be for me, now. I don't have certs anymore being that they are extremely outdated (2000). I do have years of management and senior tech experience, though. i have recently quit my job and i'm relocating to a...
jrbarnet, I think you may be a little on the high horse there. You sure did write alot about yourself rather than answer the question. Makes me think..... charlatan?
Take two 18 year olds and one job that reqiures MCSE. If one had the cert and the other not, who would get the job?
Enough said...
I'm not understanding. I've been in IT for years (only 5), but never a programmer or the such. However, I have never worked with one person that had a degree or cert in the tech field that has been worth minimum wage. Yes, I went to tech school and got my crappy MCSE, but never used it until 3...
tell your boss that it would cost them more money upfront than to have employees use an expense account. if that wasn't true all companies would be doing the same.
Oh and BTW, these kind of issues are what "internet service discussion" forums SHOULD be like. not break/fix issues...
i second that.
... and hurry up before someone else gets to them before you!....($$$$)
is it just me or is there a bunch of non-technical ?'s here today.

i don't know the specs, but i couldn't see any messenger stress a network. i think, as long as the employees can take care of thier job, let 'em. it also is a good way to have quick inter-office communication, but as far as that goes there are corp messengers for that.

thats pretty much normal depending on your connection type. if you're on dail-up it would start slowing down on page #2. it may be better if your on cable or dsl but its not like you can open up a mass of pages and expect them to browse at the same speed.
the deleting files thing is normal.
if...
i second the notion. DUN reinstall would be the next step.
something to try:
like manarth said, connect but don't open anything. let it sit a minute or two. then go to the DOS prompt and do a constant ping on yahoo.com to see if it dissconects for that. if not, useing switches run a constant...
your question is a good and well put one. however, i am to no help being that i live in texas. however, you said it best when you ask for people in the area. cox cable can be very good and obviously bad. i live in one town, it rocked. moved to another with cox, it sucked. so, keep in mind that...
hey, good point, madonnac! the same if you are useing a different isp. you may need to see about clearing the ISP cache. if on a network proxy ask the admin. if a ISP you can request it but that probably won't on request. it SHOULD clear automaticly after a couple days.
