set up internal email 1

i am looking for guidance and a way to save some $, Is Microsoft 2000 server, capable of internal email, and how would i set it up, i have 1 server and 4 workstations, any advise would be apreciated.

Dont bother with this at all.

Download Mercury, it's royalty free, I did set it up in 4 hours, I tried before for 1 year (???) to setup a mail server on Linux.
