    You can use Project to handle maintenance tasks a couple of ways. Using the "Insert" menu you can enter recurring tasks, or just schedule a series of maintenance tasks. Just put in the appropriate resource(s) and predecessor(s). No real magic to it.

    Interesting. Why wouldn't you want to baseline the plan? Doing so would allow you to see where you are relative to the original plan for hours. The baseline can be written over or (depending on the version you use) alternate baseline fields could be used to save the baseline.
