    Thanks for the suggestions. I tried jro and but it does a repair and compact, which won't work for access 97 files. The dao method won't open access 2000 files with 3.5 and does a compact/repair with 3.6.

    In Exchange Admin/Mailbox Resources double click on the username. On the Limits tab you can specify a maximum size of outgoing emails. Set it to 15Kb - this is more than enough for an email, but not enough for a one page Word doc. Peter

    Using Outlook 2002 with W2000 on a laptop over two sites.

    Try using Tools/email accounts click the change/modify email accounts and click next. Use the new outlook data file button to create a new .pst and make sure that the deliver new email drop down is pointing to the new file.
