I am a novice w.r.t. Unix. I have inherited a system which has the join daemon set up for DHCP. As we have a mixed environment I am using NT for this and have killed the joind daemon. However, joind now restarts approx. 15 mins after being killed. I don't even know where to look to trace this - there does not seem to be a reference to joind in the inittab file.

Can anyone point me in the right direction??

Thanks,

Peter

Have a lok at the man page on joind
There is a reference to uncommenting a line in
/etc/inetd.conf
This may help you.

Thanks,

Commenting out the line, and a restart of inetd did the trick!
