Default on your job is Good ! Dont modify that however make your modifications in the Alert Manager !
Under quick start you have the alert manager - > Under Configuration expand Default and configure the type of alert that you choose to use. Sent a test message and make sure your setup works...
So if you use a ca.olf then its most likly the license folder being corrupt
1)Search for a folder called ca_lic
2)Rename the folder to ca_lic_old
3)From the sp2 download -- Browse to INTELNT\LICENSE you will find an executable called baseinst.exe run the same
4) This will create a new ca_lic...
Couple of things you can check,
1) Check if the port 6074 is listening on the exchange server by running the below command from the cmd prompt
Telnet servername\ipaddress 6074
2) You could also run netstat -na and see if the port 6074 is listening

To make sure you are looking at the right session brick level\Database level you can hightlight the session and on the right hand side the properties of the session would give you more information.

Thats because the database does not have the session information on the tape
To view the sessions on the tape you need to run a merge on the tape. Merge option would be under the Utilities tab on the manager.
Is this on the manager ? Or are you checking the executable calicnsc.exe in the ca_lic folder? Also when you look at your licensing certificate whats is the key for, SBS standard edition or premium edition?
You need to clear the registry of the licensing information and relicense the product
Goto the registry the following path
HKLM\Software\Computer Associates\License\Products\
You should find folders 31BA, 31EX and 31SQ...
Export all the three folders and then delete them
Now just relicense...
Go to the Brightstor Arcserve Backup folder
1) Delete the files from the temp folder
2) Stop the Ca services (Run cstop.bat from the BAB folder)
3) Delete the files under the DATABASE folder that start with the letter 'r'.
4) Start the Ca services (Run cstart.bat from the BAB folder)

You would have to uninstall and reinstall the software in a different drive
However you could take a copy of the DATABASE folder and the *.QSD folder under x:\Program files\CA\Brightstor Arcserve Backup before doing an uninstall.
