Hi, having a problem with the win2k machines. If you try to run a macro to merge some data from a xls document to a word document, it won`t do it. But if you run the batch file associated with it it runs fine. Anybody have any ideas as too how i can get round this??

VMM32 relates to the vertual memory manager can you start the computer in safe mode?? it may have been disabled or corrupted.

have you installed office 2000, or any of it`s components?

do the computers have accounts setup for the server? are they set to look at the right domain??

80 mb is not a lot of disk space. if you have a lot of applications open then it could be running out of space. check how much space is for your virtual memory. in the system icon on the control panel, performance tab, see if your virtual memeory is set to expand past your available hard drive...

fastfat.ss relates to the hard disk . This would indicate that there could be a problem with your hard disk the upfrade will not run a full disk scan. try running a full scandisk, and check out the disk for errors.

how is the server configuered??? if it`s a PDC then setting the user/password, up on the server, and configuring the clients to log onto the domain will solve the problem. If the server is a member server, and so is part of a workgroup then you will have to reinstall the server to become a PDC...

I am trying to setup a mailbox so that another user can access it. The idea is that we would like to have 2 accounts per user, one roaming and a mandatory account. But we would just need the one mailbox that both accounts can access. ANy idea`s on how to do this would be appreciated?

the modem uses it`s own speaker for the noice you here. you can turn it off in the modem properties. Not sure where but it is there. Normally says low , medium or high

does the system see the CD`s in the bios? if you don`t know about the bios, see when it boots if it lists it in the startup, after the hard drive(s). If not then the cable may be lose.

is the computer name of your computer the same as one already on the network? this is usually the cause of that problem

What is the program? Could it have the wrong association linked to it?

what protocols are you using? Are you using the gateways services on the server to access netware, or are you using the ipx/spx for all network comms?

when does the message appear? On boot? are you starting a program atomatically on boot? or in a program? if so which? metafile is a type of picture file.
