if it turns on & off every minute for 30 seconds. Then you have no problems. Since it can't turn on or off in 30 seconds!
Could you try to tell us again what the problem is!
You didn't give much info. But mr being gracefull and all... :-)
I think it's a bug in the ATI drivers. I heard of something (I think in the Q3 demo instrctions) about it. See if there is a updated driver for your ATI.
Also do you by any chance have a set of speakers, subwoofer, modem...
Check for patches for the games. Also you might try this page. It has some really goood sugestions!

OK I just read a forum here talking about cd-rw's vs. cd-r's. It made some mention of DVD drives. What is do you think is going to replace them! I've heard of some new disks that can easily store 90Gbs to a CD sized disk! It's some amazing stuff! Will they make hard drives that...
The AMD has really fast but inexpensive chips! An AMD Duron 800Mhz only costs $119! The most expensive AMD chip I know of is the Thunder bird 1.1Ghz @ $399 (the 1Ghz is only $300 :-) ). And yes the GeForce 2mx would blow by that Intell graphics nightmare!
What were you doing when you got the errors?
What were you running? And did they happen in succestion?
It sounds a little like IE might be causing at least some of the problems.
I'm guessing you Compaq might have an onboard sound card. If so you might check in the bios. Make sure it's turned on.
If that's not the case. Were their any symptoms before it stoped working? Like stuttering, somtimes working when you boot up, somtimes not? That info would be helpfull...
My bad. Here is a review about your card. http://www.hardwarecentral.com/hardwarecentral/reviews/1589/1/
The person reivewing it had the same type of problems as you. He suggested trying the card in each of your available PCI slots, and he also says it's very finiky about it's settings. Don't...
In response to kb244
I was hoping not to reformat (I have over 300Mbs of MP3's).
Thanks for the help!
In response to comtech.
I put it back in last night. To see if I could notice the difference. And Sandra said. It can run at 125Mhz! Thats some good 66Mhz ram! heh heh! :-)
Thanks!
I searched the web and found this artical. It has some links to some other drivers you could try, and also some one in it mentioned that the vid card works badly with AMD chips. Well here is the site.

How many watts is your power supply? You can't have anything below 250. Though even at 250 you might still get problems. 300 is what your PC should have.
Hope this helps! I hate when stuff like that happens to me!
As I said. I thought I'd be reformatting so I figured! What the heck! oops. Bad idea!
The way I have it. I get the multi boot thing. But Win2k is still on C: drive along with win98 (wich by the way is running great). I don't know much about this type of thing so. That's why I'm asking...
you must be missing a file in your registry. I don't know for sure. You might use http://www.google.com It's a really good search engine. Hope you find something!
Win2k is cool. But I'm really into gaming, and I only have an 8GB HD (yes a new HD is on my christmas list)! So I need all the space I can get.
I do have a P-3. So the bus speed is no problem with me. When I put the PC together I had but a lowly Celeron. Hence the 66mhz mem.
Ok...
