Try using the Microsft drivers for the TL such that medium changer shows as unknown medium changer in device manager and the tape drive shows as LTO driver.

How is the library being conencted ? Thro SCSI , HBA ?
Do you see this from the device manager ( windows )
Try to disable the tape drive , library from the windows device manager .

1) test backups trying different values for the Job Engine buffers.Try to Increase the buffer size in the server admin to 512 and see how it goes .
2) ARCserve Copy job of same data from target to local system
3) Copy via NT OS of same data.

Check for the latest firmware for the drive and for the latest drivers for the SCSI
Just in case can you enable the drive in the windows device manager and see how it works

Computer Management -> Removable Storage and check under the Work Queue for any errors and delete if any failed jobs . Try starting the removable storage service too and check it

Also just wanted to know , when this crashed happen before you selected that option , do you get any error messages in the Event logs with event 17052 , or in the sqlserver logs with messages like LOCK resource ...

Seems your backing up the sharepoint data as a flat file ...Install the sharepoint agent and backup the database using that ....check the sharepoint guide for that
