Currently have Rythems as provider, going belly up. Looked at a bunch of others with poor results. Intercom Online seems to be the most reliable. Any buddy know of reasons to avoid Intercom Online??

Hi, I have several thousand files with an uppercase file extension that need to be imported by an app that only recognizes lower case extensions. MSDOS provides a switch /L for lower case. Does a similar switch exist in SCO or does anyone have an idea on how to handle the problem? The files...
Well, that was my first thought as well. But alas, when naming the file in DOS with lower case letters, W98 converts the lower case extension to uppercase.
Create your options form with a list box. Enter your options values. Add the field to your query as your filter as [forms]![formName]![FieldName].
User selects an option from the list box, clicks search to launch the query, query runs with the list selection as the query filter.

Win 98 sets file extensions to uppercase for MS-DOS mode. A DOS app needs the file extensions to be lower case. I've searched the registry to locate the extension with no success. In particular, I need to set .JPG to be .jpg for a utility to handle the files.
Any ideas on changing the...
If your routers provide for VPN connections, most do, then nothing else is needed.

Looking for a source for PC platform running at or under PII. We use MS-DOS apps with I/O control that are too slow for the newer platforms. We've tried slowing down the processor with a loop util but we're still having problems with the port speed.
We had been slowing down the machines in...

Is the mdb on a shared drive? By default, shared drives are set to read only. If the drive is shared, it must be set to read/write to use the mdb with write permission.

If your only traveling 100', why not use wireless? If you have a visible line of sight between buildings you can use wireless LAN or infrared technology. Either will work well and elliminate the potential problems of cable. The issues of lightning, static charges as well as moisture are all...
Why not use the auto archive in OutLook 2K? Simple to use and does not require user intervention. We archive each user to a server to provide a means of recovery.
Did you try ref the form as a sub with Forms!MyMainForm!Forms.MySubForm.FieldName
I recall linking a field on a sub form to a sub and including the ref to the main and sub form in the call.

Hello,
It is a simple process to enable the work group functions - and difficult to remove. Check the help on work groups and you will find a page titled "Removing a work group". The steps involve creating an empty db, as admin, with all users having full access, copy your db over...
Hi,
Is the second machine connecting to a shared folder on your machine? If so, is the folder set to read/write? By default folders initially set to shared are read only. Second, check the ODBC drivers for the apps. Possibly one is set to 16 bit and the other is 32 bit.
Good luck,
Jim
I have a 32 BIT w95 running an access 2.0 app with the odbc 16 bit engine. The mdb is resident on the machine and shared to a network. A remote machine running an access 2.0 app with a 16 bit engine is mapped to the mdb on the 32 bit machine. The remote machine can open the mdb and add/delete...
