Have 2 remote sites running win2k at one and Novell at the other. At one site DSL router for conncetion to the internet, at the other, sharing a T-1 with another company for connection to the Internet. With this in mind what will I need to establish a VPN connection to the other office. Simply looking for some High speed file sharing here and nothing more. If there is a better suggestion please advise. Is it necessary to have a VPN concentrator (e.g. Cisco/Altiga's box)to accomplish this objective? Thanks

If your routers provide for VPN connections, most do, then nothing else is needed.

Setup either end to allow VPN connection, router Mfg. typically have decent instructions for the setup, then setup the W2K on the same end for incoming connections. Add the remote W2K as a user.

On the remote side, setup up a new connection with VPN support.

Most mistakes occur at the router settings. Need to enable VPN connections, add IP serving to map the W2K public IP of the remote W2K box to the host W2K box and add a server in the current server list.
