The most straight forward answer would be to buy one of those CD Repair kits and pray that it fixes the CD scratch well enough to have it function.
I don't have Office 2000 myself, but is it possible to install it from files copied from the CD (like many a Win9x install)? IF you can keep...
*Shudder* I just imagined a 30 page document where each page has to be faxed to a different location.
We're using BitWare Fax, but there's GOT to be SOME similarities. Assuming the entire document is being faxed to one location, does ProComm Fax generate a printer icon (Start-> Settings->...
That's an easy one.
Select the SINGLE blank cell under "Total".
Right Click and select Delete.
On the little dialog box that pops up, select "Shift Cells Up".
If you really want a macro, you can record the process as you perform it. Granted it will only ever work for that...
I can think of only two possibilities off the top of my head:
1) There is an embedded code in the particular document that the user is printing, or
2) When uninstalling MSOffice, first run the registry cleaner (http://www.nd.edu/~ndoit/euc/microsoft.shtml)
before re-installing.
One more (somehat) remote possibility is to verify the type of graphic files used to generate the presentation. Make them all the same (if possible) and use a compressed format like ".gif", ".jpg".
I once helped someone convert all their Bitmap files to Jpegs. It resulted...
Did you see the posts by ActiveThistle and johncurtis entitled "Office XP killed Access97"? It sounds like the same problem.

ActiveThistle (TechnicalUser) Feb 5, 2002
I used to have Office 97 installed and upgraded to XP to try it out.
When the 30 day limit expired I...
An idea off the top of my head:
COPY (not move) the share to the new server.
Update one workstation.
Go into the registry and find all entries that make reference to the share.
Export or create a .REG file to make these changes.
Embed the .REG in a login script which all users access when they...
idmxl8.xla
".xla" and not ".xls"? Are you creating an add-in, using an existing add-in, or do you have the "file type" box set to the wrong setting?
Since the help files say to go into the Page Break Preview mode before removing the page break (Click "Insert" to remove... ya' gotta love it!), I'll assume you tried viewing the spreadsheet in "Normal" mode and removing them that way.
Next, I suggest looking at the...
I ran into a similar situation several month's ago. Of all the crazy fixes, I installed Internet Explorer 5.0 and the feature magically came to life. I re-installed MSOffice also, but the initial attmept did not work.
While trying to think up a new angle to try for resolution, I decided to...
As much fun as it can be to bash Microsoft, this MAY not be Hotmail's fault. Do you have the "Email Security Update" installed? I've heard that it eats attachments that it shouldn't (Read: "nearly all").
The E-zine where I head about it has many references, but here are two...
The one thing that comes to my mind:
When you installed Office on the first PC (from which all other ghosts are made), was it installed under the administrator USERCODE?
My thinking is that a user with administrative ACCESS is still just a user when installing software under the more recent...
Wild A** Guess:
The experience I'm relating has nothing to do with Office directly, but twice in the past month while trying to install software that refused to "get itself started" or hangs up in-progress, I noticed that the CD drive kept spinning up and down. This was causing...
I remember reading a recent issue of Woody's Office Watch reporting one one detail. If you had Office 2000, loaded Office XP, and decided to uninstall Office XP, you had better have a complete version of Office 2000 (not an upgrade version). Oherwise you'll have to install Office 97 or 95, and...
"Add" Network Neighborhood? That sounds like a RELATIVE impossibility. It should be there by default.
When you click on the Open button, I assume you get the standard dialog box.
This dialog box should show the files and directories in the current/most recently used path that Access...
I've been reading about Microsoft's recent "Security Update" lately. They list it as a "Critical update" even though it wreaks havoc with e-mail attachments in Outlook. Was that update installed?
Have you detected a pattern as to what kind of attachments are affected...
A fellow Tech here found the problem! It was indeed a Windows / Registry issue.
The key \HKeyClassesRoot\*\shell\QuickView needed to be removed. Everything works fine now.
Rats! It didn't work. I even created a brand new toolbar and that didn't work either. The results are exactly the same. Reinstalling Office didn't help either.
Now I'm thinking this is a Windows issue...
Office 97, Windows 98
When I click on the Mom Bar buttons, intead of getting the requested application, I get a Quick View display of that executable.
All the apps launch fine from the Start Menu, so the programs are installed well enough... Copying those shortcuts to the Mom Bar makes no...
