My friend is using excel 97 and he says he doesn't have the "save as html" function (which I do have on my version).
Is that a feature that needs to be installed separately?

Does he need to use the install CD for it, or is it also possible to install that feature from a separate file, that he can get from me for example (this would be easier, since he needs to get that install CD at his work)?

When you don't have the CD to use, I strongly suggest the "run all from my computer" install...

There are a group of filters/converters that are not installed when doing a default install. I don't recall their file extensions, but I bet you'll figure it out if you do a search for "html" (without the quotes and with no file extension; they may be FLT or CNV files?)

I ran into a similar situation several month's ago. Of all the crazy fixes, I installed Internet Explorer 5.0 and the feature magically came to life. I re-installed MSOffice also, but the initial attmept did not work.
While trying to think up a new angle to try for resolution, I decided to bring the PC up to the version standards we were deploying - hence the upgrade to IE5. The user had a much older version, 3.0 I think...).
