We always, always use VPN client ahead of One-X/Equinox.
A few years back a medical client had pentest done, which had flagged our Avaya One-X/SIP phone setup as vulnerability.
Since then - the only way we implement mobility is with a prequel VPN client.
It's the only way to remove any...
We verified with distributor that there is no cost to upgrade R10 to R11 for In-House Demo. We went into PLDS and regenerated license.
1. Login into PLDS and select View ACtivation Record - you will need LAC.
2. In the Search box enter the systems FL Number or the PLDS Host ID of the IP...
Has anyone come across the Avaya Part # for R10 to R11 In-House Upgrade License.
We thought it would be an Entitlement in PLDS system for existing R10 demo licenses.

Equinox to use IPO R11 for Audio, Zang for Collaboration, Avaya Equinox Meetings Online for meetings...
ONE-X is a beauty queen compared to this...
This is the Avaya "Frankenstein" app.
All we need is Gene Wilder and Marty Feldman...and a young Terri Garr :)

BTW. Web Services on IPO500 are a joke. Takes time to load up once you login, sluggish response at best, limited access to system features. Nothing to see here move along...

You do not have to use Centralized VMPro in order to implement SCN.

Agree with IP Guru.
If you're going to pay for SCN, then Enable SCN to take care of housekeeping and maximize SCN Feature set. Paying for SIP trunk doesn't make sense. Setting up the ARI tables for ISP trunks etc...why go through all of that BS when SCN does all of that for you in the...
This will sound trite. Hire an Avaya Business Partner when it comes to One-X portal applications/design work. Way too many variables going on.

We are a Lenovo house when it comes to Servers/Workstations.
Have any of you experienced blowback from Avaya for not using their Dell R360 platforms?
Any down side from an IPOSS perspective?

The existing 9600/9500 models are old school design and tired looking.
Does anyone have information about any potential new designs?
Hey Avaya - how about more programmable buttons and a larger display ?
"Never fear billing a client for services rendered, or they will think your time is worthless"
Yes. Always without question. Exposure is mitigated by not opening ports. Complexity goes way down and dependability of the One-X app improves as the VPN places you on the LAN. You will never have to explain to a customer how their phone system got hacked.

Please tell me you are tunneling in on VPN and have no open ports directly NAT'd to the IP500 and One-X server....you will regret it if you don't !

Try to be an Apple Resller and post a product for less than Apples Minimal List Price and see what happens to your Apple Dealership...
Point of the matter is that Avaya does not enforce their policy regarding selling the product on the internet, allowing for the wild west mentality and...
Hey Avaya !!
It's tough enough out in the real world selling against the Cloud providers of Free phones. How can I retain my customer base and earn a living whilst these Avaya Dealers are allowed to sell your wares on AMAZON, eating away at our margins !!!
