I notice that my 1230 IP phones will only display 17 characters or less even though MXLN is set to 27. I thought I read this limitation somewhere but cannot find the documentation to support.
Below is LD 95... Verify MXLN

Just an FYI... The MGM Grand Hotel that the OP was asking about is now Ballys. The current MGM was built "around" the old Marina Hotel in the early 90's.
The current MGM (not Ballys)was installed with NEC 2400 and later changed (after 2002) to Nortel. Las Vegas in general has quite a bit of NEC, at one point they claimed 50% of the large hotels downtown and on the Strip.
It is an epromm. If you dial "Feature" + 3 the display will show you if the CPU is 48P or 192P. If it shows 48P the CPU will require the PKU (epromm) o increase the port capacity from 48P (32 sta x 16 co) to 192P (120 sta x 64 co).
Is anyone else a System Manager (you?), you would log in with 9XXX + that mailboxes password. We usually build 2 mailboxes with system manager status so we can get in when someone does this. Good Luck
You can add an ADA-U to the bottom of the phone to provide a contact closure when off hook. We done this in cubicles so no one will enter when on the phone.
721 for voice call, 723 for ringing.... by default. Sometimes people will forget to dial 9 for outgoing, and dialing a 723 prefix will put the phone in ring instead of voice-announce.
