    Caller ID display delay

Hi - I've got a bug that I can't seem to resolve with what I would consider a normal TNB Class of Service fix. (Rls 22.16) In question is a 2616D with ACD features on keys 0-3. The MARP'd DN is on key 4. When the 2616D receives a call from the PSTN (DID via PRI), the display continues to show...

    i2050 Phones and VGMC

We had the same problem. Isolated it to the ITG-Pentium cards (never fails on the SMC cards). Would have worked on it longer, but was already in mid-transaction to swap the ITG for the SMC (Nortel is currently offering a trade-in on the ITG for credit towards the purchase of the SMC).

    Login to ITG-P card

If your IP Line loadware is 3.x, and you have connected your ELAN, it reconfigures itself with the PWD1 of the PBX. For example, if you login to the PBX like: LOGI 12345678 PASS? 12345678 Then your login to the ITG CLI is: 12345678 12345678 By the way, 3.x loadware on these gateway cards...

    reset IP PHONE I2007

... not having net LAN in DHCP, and hour on the telephone I more do not succeed to insert other parameters in how much is in continuous search of server DHCP that I do not have!!! " I get confused when I read this. But that's beside the point. If you want to reset your i2007, unplug the...

Trunk Class of Service Feature: MID/MIA

Thanks, PERRYPJ. I couldn't find anything on this in the NTP's... But your explanation makes perfect sense - the calls that were not being passed through were going to the operator. I just read another post debating Cisco and Nortel. I wonder if Cisco has a feature like this that would allow...

Trunk Class of Service Feature: MID/MIA

Any idea on what MID/MIA does or does not do? We have set up virtual trunks between signaling servers. In the class of service of one of the trunks, MIA (Manual Incoming Allowed) was defined. And it would not pass the call through. Changed it to default MID (Denied), and the call goes...

    NCFW ISSUE?

shug1... One way you can test your theory is to log every agent (assigned to queue 7500) OUT. then dial 7500 and see if it still fails 1 out of 3. I agree with John - When troubleshooting this one, try stepping back from the 7500 queue and look at the auto-attendant and/or the auto-attendant...

    Softphone i2050

I'm curious, if the IT dept ALREADY HAS a secure VPN solution, why they need a 'networking' option. Isn't that what the VPN solution is??? - A networking option? (not trying to be cynical - just come across that way) We have a Cisco VPN solution. Once the architecture is in place, all the...

    Voice Quality i2050 in ACD

first (and easiest) thing I would try is to improve your jitter buffer. Open Nortel's configuration tool on the PC that has the softphone. Go to the 'Select Sound Devices' tab. Bump your Audio Quality adjustment up. We moved ours from 2 up to 4 and noticed a big improvement.

    PS/ALI on option 61c for E-911

We have 'zones' set up where a DID represents a certain area (building, wing, floor, etc.). Then we define that DID in our CLID table. For internal extensions, we determine which zone the set is closest to, then associate that zone's CLID to the primary DN. (and all other DN appearances refer...

    Zone Management

Please elaborate... I was under the assumption that zones are user defined: BB (best bandwidth (@ g7.29)) and BQ (best quality (@ g7.11)). Are you suggesting that you have a session that is using more bandwidth than the g7.11 codec (~64 kbps)? How out of 'control' is your bandwidth session?

    Recording calls

For simple isolated cases like this one, we use a product by Konexx called Phone 2 PC. It taps your handset and feeds the audio to your PC. Catch - your PC has to have a sound card. Once recorded, you can play back the recordings using any media player.

    i2050 softphone

Interesting... I just downloaded the software from Nortel's website less than two months ago, but now it's not there. Unfortunately, I think this forum is limited to posts only - no software exchange, so I can't get you the software (software is free, the licenses are up to you). At this...

Questions about maintenance, upgrade and releases...

Keep in mind... SRS relates to SOFTWARE upgrades only. If you lock into the SRS contract, notice it does not cover the hardware required to get you compatible for their latest release.

ELAN - TLAN Question Option 11C

Yeah - I've seen the INI's due to ELAN traffic interference. We made the mistake of temporarily co-locating the MyCallPilot app on our OTM server. The OTM server, of course, has the ELAN and TLAN connection. Turns out, it was acting as a router, passing MyCallPilot traffic to the CallPilot...

    DNIS delivery over TIE trunks

We just resolved a problem similar to this using a patch... Nortel called it a designer patch, or at least in our case they said this patch is a "PI patch so it won't go in the DEP"... p21402_2.cpp (for a pentium processor) In any case, before we voiced a big complaint over their original...

    Signaling server & ITG Card

If you are going to expand your IP phone ISM's, you can increase it to a maximum of 5000 IP phones, which register to the Signaling Server. If you're on a CS1000E (totally IP), then you only need to worry about more ITG/SMC (voice gateway) cards for when you are passing voice to your PSTN. If...

    Noob Question (Help Please

If you define the forwarding on your Opt 11 to dial out to an off-site DID, you may find that you DOUBLE your T-1 traffic (one inbound, second channel outbound). Unless you optimize your trunk route to drop the loop. If you are positive you are not going to answer the incoming on your Opt 11...
